• Buildings, buildings and more buildings! Never before in a Worms game has the player been able to actually add land to the playing area. A myriad of different building types gives the player the power to adopt a wide variety of strategies and gameplay styles.
• Outrageous: Massive weaponry! Okay, so we've had destruction in previous titles, but nothing like this. Siege weaponry, giant catapults, huge howitzers and even frozen ferrets... Its how many animals became extinct, so don't tell the WWF.
• Parody: Historically placed themes and environments provide ample opportunity to parody such epochs as Egyptian and Medieval times.
• Resource management. Something completely new, the player must consider carefully where they're going to build in order to gain the maximum benefit from the resources on the map.
• Added strategic elements: do you build quickly to grab the resources on the map, or construct your fortifications at a more considered pace to prevent having your "supply lines" cut? The possibility of buildings becoming isolated makes for some interesting tactical decisions.
• It's a Worms game, but for once, the emphasis isn't on the little blighters. Despite featuring worms, the real emphasis of the game is on the buildings: it's impossible to play without constructing your own buildings and destroying those of your opponent.
