The Classic Wormwood Leaf Absinthe Spoon

This is a new Absinthe spoon, made in France and stamped ' Muse de France ' on the bottom left of the bowl. 

Based on the historical `les Feuilles d`Absinthe` design featuring leaves of the wormwood plant this spoon is beautifully sculpted in Stainless Steel, 16.5 cm/6 1/2 inches in length.

Used in the ritual of Absinthe drinking, where the spoon was balanced across the rim of a glass, and sugar placed on the slotted bowl of the spoon. Iced water was allowed to drip onto the sugar, and into the glass containing a measure of Absinthe. When the drink turns an opalescent shade, it is ready to drink.
