Description: Here's a real treasure: a very large map of the Los Angeles area which shows not only the streets of Los Angeles and the surrounding suburbs, but trolley lines for the Los Angeles Railway, the Pacific Electric Railway, and the Glendale & Montrose Railway as well. It also includes a special section showing the San Fernando Valley.
It was published in July of 1919 by the Times-Mirror Printing and Binding house of Los Angeles for the Pacific Electric Railway company whose logo on the back includes the words Comfort, Speed, Safety and Elegance.
According to the front cover, it shows "Car lines in official colors of oper- ating companies, with complete route of each line" and even includes instructions: "For convenience in use of Map -- fold up one-third, down one-third, right one-half, hold by cover."
Folded up, it measures about 5" wide by 8" high and seems almost like a booklet. It unfolds to a very large 32" wide by 48" high.
Inside the front cover, there's a 16-page Street Index attached to the cover with staples. The map is apparently glued to one edge inside the back cover.
While the Street Index is printed on regular paper, the map is printed on what appears to be waxed paper. The printing is very sharp and every- thing is extremely legible.
Also interesting are the concentric circles radiating from downtown at one mile intervals from the Main Street Pacific Electric station.

Condition: Very Good - all paper is in good to excellent condition, there's one small hole at a fold in an upper middle-left quadrant, the cover front and back has a few minor stains and some very minor rippling, the binding is quite solid, there's one small tear -- about 1/8" -- at the bottom of the cover at the binding, the map might not be folded up as it was originally but it's hard to tell
(Condition Scale = Fair, Good, Very Good, Excellent, Near Mint, and Mint)
