Here's a vintage Hamilton pocket watch. I don't know much about watches, but on a dealer's web site this model is listed as a "Navigation Master", and is described as a "Hamilton 4992B "GCT" black face 24 hour dial, military pocket watch. 22 jewels, Adj. 6 Pos/Temp, base metal Star watch Case Co.". The back of the case reads "AN-574Q-1 / STOCK NO. 6645-557-0321 / MFR's PART NO: 33106 / CONTRACT NUMBER DA-36-038-ORD-20108 / SERIAL NO. AF-58-5481 / HAMILTON WATCH COMPANY". I bought this watch at a local estate sale. It had belonged to a career Air Force man who was born in 1917 and served in World War 2, the Korean war, and Vietnam. In 1967 he was shot down over North Vietnam and was listed as an MIA until his bones were discovered and returned home in 1990. In the first photo, camera flash makes the lower section of the face appear to be unclear. The glass has a couple of scratches and there is a small crack on the edge near the small numeral 10. The back of the case shows a little wear to the plating. At present, the watch is not running and I have not wound it. One of the soldier's heirs told me that it tries to run, but that it probably needs a cleaning and tune-up after sitting in a drawer for over forty years. Accordingly, the watch is being sold "as is". Shipping via USPS Priority Mail will be $4.80. Please email any questions prior to bidding. Thanks!
