WW1 Keystone Stereoview French Trenches behind trees

I picked up a box of these old stereoview cards at an Estate Sale. I know nothing about stereoview cards / photos, so I've left them, sitting, waiting for me to have time to try and learn about them. I intended to do some research so I'd be able to describe these properly...but time to do that eludes me. Now I've decided to list them all without the research.  I'll learn as I go. (With your help!)  This is a diverse collection of about 200 cards, including WW1, animals, international, children, sweethearts, scenic, buildings, Indians, trains, etc., etc...You will eventually be able to see them all in our store in the ART: Stereoview Cards Section. You can visit our store by clicking here-->.  I'll be listing a few each week until I get them done.

Here is a stereocard titled:

18042 Shelter with Gardens Behind. In French Trenches (European War)

Specifics: I do not have a stereo-viewer to look at these cards. So I can only describe what can be seen with the naked eye, without the benefit of a viewer. This card has two identical black & white photographs.   The photos are in excellent condition, clean and detailed.  There are a number of men standing along the face of the trench that is dug behind large trees. It appears that there are things hung along the face of the trench..clothes? or weapons? not sure what. The trees appear to have no leafs -- maybe it is winter or digging the trench so close to the roots killed the trees?  ----

On the back of the card there is an essay about the role of trenches in the war -- and says that in this picture 'the little patch of garden they have been allowed to grow' suggesting there is a garden of some sort in the photo?  Unusual, I would think??

Measurements:  This card measures 7 1/16" X 3 9/16"

Condition:  The photos on the card are in very good condition, The bottom looks silvered in the scan, but it isn't on the card..that was caused by a reflection from the scanner. The card is also in good condition but it has a bit of a warp.
