M.C. : L.G. 18th June 1917 Temp. Lt Frederick Sydney Marr, R.F.A "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has repeatedly done good and valuable work in going forward in front of the firing line and obtaining most valuable information. On a later occasion he led his battery to its forward position through an intense barrage and it was largely due to his fine example and cool judgement that the battery reached its position with only a few casualties"
