Too late for Market Garden reenactments (but WAY ahead of the curve for D-Day!) I am pleased to offer these great scarves cut from original camouflaged GI parachute material!!!  Scarves are triangles measuring approximately 46 inches wide at the base and 24 inches high at the apex.

QUICK HISTORY LESSON:  During combat jumps, US Paratroopers often cut a piece out of their parachute after landing and kept it as a souvenir.  It was usually worn as a scarf under the collar of the M1937 wool shirt, for two reasons: 1.) It looked really cool, and 2.) For hygienic reasons.  Since field laundry wasn't often available, the scarf could be worn to prevent chaffing & irritation to the neck (which could lead to boils if not treated early).  Parachute material was also a great barter piece when dealing with other Allied units... Making this piece accurate for any Allied reenactor.

Did not find a date on the canopy sections that I bought, so I cannot guarantee that this material is WWII production.  However, the camouflage pattern used in WWII personnel chutes remained unchanged when used in the manufacture of cargo chutes well into the 60s...  So it will definitely pass muster when worn with your jump gear!  Free First Class shipping within the US!

NOTE: This scarf is a triangle of parachute material, cut directly from the chute (yes, to answer your questoion, exactly as you saw in "Band of Brothers")  The edges are not sewn or bound in any way...  This is completely accurate to the originals, as I guarantee that no member of the 101st carried a Singer sewing machine in his Musette Bag on D-Day, or during Market Garden, or on any of their 'tailgate jumps...'
