WWII US AAF ARMY CRUSHER BERKSHIRE OFFICERS VISOR CAP

• This is an excellent example of a fur felt crusher cap!!  It is in absolutely great condition! 
• This cap has a size label, which states size 7,  however I am a size 7 1/8" and this cap does fit me.  
• This cap is a beautiful chocolate brown fur felt top style (not wool) and includes the original brass cap badge, front strap, as well as side buttons.
• The inside label is intact and states "Berkshire Caps", "US Army Officers Cap" (see photos).  Also pressed into the sweatband is the "E-Z Cushion" logo.  The original owner's initials "RHU" are also embossed in silver on the leather sweatband. 
• The brim is the 2 ply leather brim style and is completely plyable (see photos), however the stitching is not completely intact; this can easily be restitched.
• The sweatband is ripped on the left hand side (as the hat is worn) and the internal crown sweat shield (covering the crown label) is tattered.  Both these deficiencies are internal and do not at all detract from the hat.      

I purchased this cap from a thrift shop in Minot North Dakota back in the 1986.   The store owner said that a lady brought the cap in with a bunch of other clothing donations.  She told him that the cap had belonged to her uncle and that he had been a bomber pilot during WW II.  Unfortunately she knew no other details.  I have not researched this hat; I leave that to the new owner.

A beautiful classic Berkshire crusher cap...This is the real thing!!  This is an outstanding cap and would make a beautiful addition to any Army Air Corp or WWII collection!!!!
