Now you can purchase a cost effective complete Grid-Tie solar power and UPS system for your grid connected warehouse or office building. This package consists of 1) a used set of 32 (6/2002 or later manufacture date) DataSafe HX500-fr Industrial AGM Sealed Batteries (read section on how each battery tested to assure quality product) 2) 6000 watts of 100 new kaneka 60 watt Solar panels 3) 1 new Xantrex XW6048 6.0 kw 120/240 vac 48 vdc Pure sine wave Grid-Tie and Stand-Alone inverter with built-in 100 amp battery charger and 60 amp transfer switch 4) 1 new Xantrex XW prewired Distribution Center 5) 2 New Xantrex XW-MPPT60-150 60 amp MPPT charge controllers 6) Photovoltaics Design and Installation Manual by SEI (see separate listing in store for full details of this excellent book). That is all that is being sold in this auction. Depending on how you chose to mount the panels a panel mounting system may be required. I can supply roof mounts (flat and tilted), ground mounts, and tracking systems. This system is sized and designed to be a Grid-Tie power generation system for a warehouse, Farm/Ranch or an office building. With this inverter and the battery package you also have a very large scale UPS to power the entire facility when the grid is down, something you don't get from a pure grid-tie inverter. If you are looking for a full-time or part-time home package, I have other auctions for that need. You will need to provide battery connectors, solar panel mounts, and all wiring for solar panels and battery bank. Get complete details of each item in following description sections. With this set you should be able to run a moderate demand light industrial facility. For extended power outages the inverter can be integrated into the utility with a generator backup when the batteries get low, a generator would be used for backup power. This system will run up to 6KW of power requirement. This package can be greatly expanded, the Xantrex distribution center can connect up to 3 XW inverters for 18 KW of total capacity with appropriate increases in panels and possibly batteries. I highly recommend this book for anyone evaluating solar systems.
Solar Power Estimator: To get a good estimate of the output potential of this system, I suggest you go to a Department of Energy site "in my backyard" a solar output and wind output estimator http://www.nrel.gov/eis/imby/
This program uses the PVWATTS government program that estimates actual power output from your location based on historical weather and solar output information and should provide a very good guesstimate of actual power output. To use this program click on IMBY and type in your address and click find. Then chose solar and and click DRAW and double click on your roof to allow you to go to the next step (if you want to do more with the draw option, read the instructions in the help section of that page). Then go down to step 2 and type 6.0 in the Size box. If your mounting location (Roof, Ground, or Pole mount) points true south and is sloped the same as the tilt angle you are done. If not you need to enter the proper numbers for your mounting location. When you click RUN it will show your estimated solar power output along with some return estimates.
In the payback section the return estimates are based on fully installed cost from a relatively high priced installer. The system they use by default is for a pure grid tie system that is fully loaded with panels. You are purchasing a fully loaded Solar and UPS package so your per watt cost will be even lower to $4.95/watt. Regardless, for the base system put in $5.45 for cost per watt for this system as shown since that should be your installed cost on a roof mount system and slightly less for a ground or pole mount system. The package will provide an estimate of tax credits, power company credits, and payback plus your monthly power production. You can adjust most everything in the program so feel free to experiment! Again no guarantees on actual rebates received or power output, but this is the best first pass system I have found.
To see the other type of batteries and complete packages I have for sale go to my Ebay Store: SolarEnergyQuest by clicking on the store icon next to my seller name. http://stores.ebay.com/SolarEnergyQuest
I want to be your eBay 5 star solar system supplier! If you have a concern, contact me so I can make sure I provide you the service so you can give me a 5 star rating. With a 5 star rating I am able to sell my products on ebay for the best prices! Remember that I only charge $10 more than I actually pay for the truck shipping of the system. Please don't downgrade my rating because of something I don't control.
Dealer/Installer Packages: I also supply small to medium sized dealers/installers around the country. I offer very competitive pricing for packages. As a dealer, your prices go down as you purchase more systems from me. I ship from warehouses in CO, CA, NM, NH, so no matter where you are in the country I can get systems to you for a very reasonable price. Your initial purchase would be at this same ebay price, you prices would drop as you purchased additional system according to a formula.
Battery Pack: These batteries were in Denver and were online for just over 5 years. Denver has very stable power so the cells were hardly cycled, it shows in their test results. All the batteries test excellent with the Midtronics tester (see explanation below) and that is confirmed by their voltage and load meter tests. A random sampling of these batteries tested from 90-105% of the reference value, truly excellent condition. Note that each battery is tested with that unit prior to shipment. These are the type size of batteries that I installed in my own off-the-grid home. As you can see from the photos, the batteries easy to connect with the mounting lug on the top of each battery. The solar items and the batteries will be shipped separately due to freight pricing considerations. Note that I reserve the right to substitute with similar technology and date batteries since my stock of used and tested batteries is continually sold and replaced. Regardless with any substitutions, it will only occur if I am out of the described batteries and the replacement batteries will provide at least the same total AH (amp-hrs) as this package..
This battery back consists of a premium 10 year design life set of sealed AGM batteries made by Enersys DataSafe they deliver 120 AH each (10 hr rate to 1.75v). This bank can produce 960AH at 48 volts, the voltage required for the inverters. THIS IS A POWERFUL BATTERY BANK THAT WAS ONLINE FOR about 1/2 OF ITS DESIGN LIFE. Since this system will be grid tied, these batteries will sit idle with their charge fully maintained until you have a power outage. With this demand possibility, these are excellent age and size system for this use. This is a large sized bank that can supply the needs of a warehouse, office or farm during a moderate power outage.. These batteries meet the non-hazardous shipping classification of non-spillable. Each battery is 12 volts, produces 500 watts/cell (each battery has 6 2-volt cell, just like your 12 volt car battery) and weighs 110 lb each and you are getting 32 of these batteries. These batteries sell new from discounters for $450 each, so you are getting a total value of over $14000 for the batteries alone. These batteries were tested and all had carried at least 12.70 up to 13.00 volts. They are all were also tested with a Midtronics Celltron Ultra industrial battery tester (approved IEEE testing method: http://www.midtronics.com/home/support/sproducts/conductancefaq/conductancefaq.aspx) and all tested in excellent condition.
These batteries can be wired in series and parallel to deliver 48 volt power that your inverter requires. That flexibility makes them perfect for these Solar Inverters. I have additional sets of these batteries, if you plan on more than a 6 kW system. These batteries can be connected together using inexpensive copper water pipe that has been cut to the proper length and drilled at proper terminal spacing and has two additional holes for connecting the inverter terminals, that is a cost effective way of making buss bars to interconnect the batteries

Solar Panels: Kaneka is a Japanese solar manufacturing company that has developed high quality amorphous solar panels that provide very cost effective power. Each panel produce 60 watts of very reliable solar power and are one of the better choices for hot climates since they maintain high power output even in hot weather. The Solar panels are covered by a 25 year, 80% power output warranty and a 5 year manufacturer's material and defects warranty. These panels are well suited for roof mount or ground mount so you have lots of options.
This package consists of 100 of their GSA060 60 watt solar panels, of course each panel contains a bypass diode. Specification are as follows:
Nominal power output: 60 W Short Circuit Current (A): 1.19 amps DC Open Circuit Voltage (V): 91.8 VDC Max Power Voltage: 67.0 Volts DC Max Power Current: .90 Amps Size: 37.7" x 38.98" x 1.57" with Aluminum frame and backing Weight: 30.2 lbs
Get complete information on these panels at http://www.pv.kaneka.co.jp/products/index.html
Inverter: This package is designed to meet all or part of the power requirements of a warehouse, office building, or farming/ranching operation. This Xantrex XW6048 inverter takes the 48 Volt DC from the batteries and solar panels and convert it to 120/240 VAC (both just like regular utility power). The inverter has a built-in 60 amp transfer switch and a 100 amp adjustable battery charger. During an extended power outage, with the transfer switch you can hook a generator to the transfer master and when you start the generator the inverter automatically switches to the generator for power rather than the batteries. With the generator turned on the inverter begins charging the batteries.
ANY TIME YOU ARE NOT USING ALL OF THE POWER GENERATED BY THE SOLAR PANELS, THE XW6048 WILL DELIVER THE EXCESS POWER BACK TO YOUR NET METERING SYSTEM, MAKING MONEY FOR YOU! IT CAN ALSO BE PROGRAMMED FOR PEAK SHAVING, MAKING SURE YOU DO NOT EXCEED CERTAIN POWER LEVELS AT CERTAINS TIMES OF DAY. READ ABOUT ALL THE THINGS THIS SYSTEM CAN DO AT THE LINK BELOW. AGAIN UP TO 3 XW UNITS CAN BE CONNECTED TO THE SUPPLIED DISTRIBUTION PANEL FOR A TOTAL OF AN 18 KW SYSTEM IF YOUR POWER REQUIREMENTS ARE GREATER.
!!!!!!!!!!FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT PAY A SUBSTANTIALLY DIFFERENT RATE FOR DAYTIME POWER VERSES NIGHTTIME POWER CONTACT ME WE CAN PUT TOGETHER A SYSTEM THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO ONLY PAY FOR NIGHTTIME POWER USING THE INVERTER SYSTEM TO PROVIDE ALL YOUR DAYTIME POWER. THIS SYSTEM CAN BE WITH OR WITHOUT SOLAR PANELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6.0 KW Specifications:

Surge Power: 12000 Watts Nominal Output Voltage: 120/240 V RMS Efficiency at full Load: 92.5% Waveform: Pure Sine Wave Connections Supported: Grid-Tie, Grid-Tie with Battery Backup, Stand-Alone Short Circuit and Overload protection Size: height=23" width=16" depth=9" Weight=132 lbs Warranty 5 year with optional 10 year
The Xantrex XW Distribution Center provides a prewired service panel for the inverter, batteries, and charge controllers. The wires are prelabeled so you can make safe and easy connections of all the equipment. AC and Main DC breakers are supplied, but you may require additional breakers for your electrical needs. This distribution center is designed to connect up to 2 more XW inverter with the additional inverter kits. That could expand this system to 18 KW.
See the complete specifications on these inverters here: http://www.xantrex.com/web/id/57/p/199/pt/1/product.asp
Charge Controller and other items: This package includes 2 Xantrex XW-MPPT60-150 60 amp MPPT charge controllers. These units are also described at the inverter link above. These systems have data communications that connect to the inverter keeping it apprasied on battery charge state. These charge controllers come with tons of features descibed at the Xantrex website.
Solar System: This package is a great for solar powered Grid-Tie (solar, wind, hydro) warehouse or office building. The batteries are premium quality designs that will provide a long life when used properly. The batteries are very long life batteries (10 year design-life) and designed for power supply usage such as remote homes, computer centers or grid tie solar systems. If your power requirements have large peak loads, then it may be appropriate to purchase additional sets of batteries so the battery pack is not deeply discharged, especially with extended stays. Your actual power usage will determine what is adequate for your needs, this package is designed as a general package to meet common systems. As with any deep discharge battery the lower the depth of discharge the less total cycles the battery will do, so buy enough batteries and solar panel so that you don't have to deeply discharge the batteries.
The battery charge can be maintained by several different options that can all work together.
1 Solar Panels set up to deliver 48 volts along with a charge controller designed to work with sealed AGM Gel batteries
2 Hydro power, one of the best systems since the power output is continous charging the battery 24/7. Again this requires 48 volt for your system voltage output with a charge controller
3 Wind power, If you have a reliable wind source is works great because of high power output with the proper controller
4 AC Generator or Power Connection, used to power the house in case you are not generating power from solar or wind for a period of time.
These are totally sealed so they can be installed with no outside venting, no storage box, check your local codes to determine if that is allowed in your area.
Solar Energy Rebates: This system of batteries can be part of a solar energy system the could qualify for both state and federal (as of 1/1/2009) renewable energy rebates. Please get more information here http://www.seia.org/. The federal 30% tax credit plus state incentives can pay for a major portion of the cost of the system. Call your local electric utility to see what they offer for net metering. Another link for information: http://statesolarincentives.net/ You can get a very basic idea of what you qualify for by using the In My Backyard power calculator mentioned at the top of this listing
Battery Testing: All batteries are tested for voltage and load before shipment to assure we are shipping a quality product. Before being shipped, batteries are tested with a Midtronics Celltron Ultra Stationary Battery Tester (www.midtronics.com). This unit is a $6000 professional battery tester designed to test 2v-16v industrial batteries sized from 20 AH to 4000 AH. It was designed to test batteries that are still part of an active battery bank (it also tests disconnected batteries, that is the easy test). It measures the conductance of the individual cells (2 volt cells) or the entire battery and compares those measured conductance with a database of batteries that have measurements for. For other batteries that are not in the database, testing of a large group of the same batteries is used to develop a good cell number. If batteries test from 90-100% of the reference number they are considered in excellent condition. If the batteries are no longer online, then the battery is considered good from 70 to 80% of the reference number. For batteries that are 60% or below, the are considered at risk and should be replaced.
All of the batteries I sell test excellent unless specifically set forth in the listing. That is the best test method available in the battery industry and midtronics is considered the leading battery tester.
How Much Power: Since I have no idea of your actual power usage, this package is designed to meet general usage guidelines, your actual solar access, usage and power requirements may require a slightly modified package. I will happily provide a custom package once you have determined your power requirements throughout an average day (the worksheets in my catalog [for sale in my eBay store] will provide all the information need for me to make better sizing estimates).
Batteries are shipped 32 to a pallet so a second set only adds a percentage of the cost of shipping the first 32. Trucking companies generally charge 50-80% of the base battery system shipping cost for an additional set. 32 batteries is the max weight that can be shipped on a single pallet so additional sets will require shipping an additional pallet as part of a single shipment.
Payment: I accept all standard forms of payment. If using Paypal payment I will only ship to the delivery address specified in the ship to section of the Paypal payment notification. If not shipping to your confirmed address, I may require additional identity confirmation information. If I don't receive payment in a timely manner I will provide negative feedback. International buyers can pay by standard forms of payment, paypal supports seller protection for buyers from your country and a US seller (Currently 109 countries are supported).
Shipping: SINCE THE SOLAR PACKAGE IS DROP SHIPPED FROM CALIFORNIA OR NEW JERSEY (depending on your location) AND THE BATTERIES FROM DENVER, SHIPPING COST IN THE FREIGHT CALCULATOR IS ONLY APPROXIMATE: I can ship this Solar package and batteries worldwide, quite often international ocean shipping is cheaper than US domestic shipping, check to see. These batteries are sealed nonspillable, nonhazardous, and the solar equipment is palletized so they can be easily shipped via truck, airplane, or ship. The battery sets that you purchase are palletized in groups of 32. This makes it easy for them to be sent by truck to your location, that is why I list freight as the shipping method. Since the batteries and solar equipment is shipped separately, the shipping calculator will provide only approximate prices. If you are serious email me with your zipcode or international delivery port. If you can have it delivered to a business with a loading dock or you hand unload it at your house from the back of the truck, it will generally save you $100-200 in delivery costs. Local pickup in denver is free for the batteries, but some shipping costs will be added for the solar equipment.
Note to Buyers: If you have more than one negative feedback and a low positive feedback number (<90%) don't bid without my approval, or I reserve the right to cancel your bid.
