This auction is for a very nice Western Electric 20-B non dial Nickel Candlestick. This phone is totally undisturbed from its "as found" State. The phone has several very desirable features. The transmitter back cup has the hard to find and often broken threaded bakelite grommet for the early one wire systems. The transmitter is mounted to the 20-B perch with the equally hard to find large thumbwheel and washer set. The transmitter is an early "7-Digit" type. The receiver of the phone is the very hard to find Western Electric Pony Style. this receiver has no cracks or chips on it. It is dirty and would require cleaning. The terminal cap also has the "7-digit" serial number, which is much more scarce than those marked "Western Electric". Another added feature to this phone is the nickel plated number card holder. These pieces are difficult to find in black painted brass, and very hard to find in original nickel plate. The cords are original, but are not in good shape. The telephone mouthpiece is bakelite with no cracks or chips. The perch is marked and dated well as can be seen in the photo.
This phone is being sold "as is". Please email with questions. On Nov-06-09 at 07:26:20 PST, seller added the following information: Additional information: A bidder asked if there is a bend in the transmitter face. The answer is no, the transmitter if fine, a reflection is what shows in the photo from the lighting. |
