I am selling a Western Electric 7A amplifier that is commonly used with the Western Electric 4B and 4D superhets. I got this amplifier from an estate and have had to clean layers of dirt off the case and the panel. The case had to have some finish added to the original wood and was so sprayed with light red mahogany. The panel appears to be discolored in the photos because of the flash but in reality it is solid black and the cabinet appears lighter than it really is. One audio transformer, the middle one, was bad and I installed a new one I had. So all transformers show continuity and check as they should read. The Western Electric 216A tubes are actually like the Western Electric 101D but have a 6 volt filament. I have Western Electric tube data for my Hickok 539C but it does not show test data for this particular tube. I checked it like I would a 201A tube and put 5 volts on the filaments at 120 bias and do have emission for all three of them. All three tubes show the same identical emission. I was afraid to apply the full 6 Volts for fear of causing an open filament. One internet source shows that this tube sells for $290 each but my reserve does not reflect this amount times three. Shipping will be by Fed EX Ground, insurance included. Amplifier will weigh approx 20lbs when packed. Payment is by Pay Pal. Do not send money at the end of the auction. I will send you and invoice. Foreign Shipping extra.
