This "Buy-it-Now" auction is for sets of 10 each cleaned authentic economical lower quality natuarla patina lepton Widow's Mite coins from the time of Jesus Christ. While a good number of lepton widow's mite coins were very beautiful coins, it is a truth that the vast majority of these coins were made very crudely and even often without any real images on one or even both sides of the coin.  All of this was before they were to sit around in the dirt for the next 2,000 years.  So what is so beauty of an ugly coin?  It coin's ugliness adds emphasis to the significance of the Bible story.   Here is what the description in the coin flip says:

    The story of the “Widow’s Mite” in Luke 21:2 tells of the woman who gave all she had. The Greek word for “mite” is “lepton”. In the first century, there were many beautiful coins, (prutahs, denarius & shekels). However, the lepton was small and crudely made, often with no image on either side. So Christ commended the widow not just for giving 2 coins, but for giving 2 leptons, all she had.

These coins would be excellent for giving out to Bible studies or Sunday School classes.  Each coin comes in attractive 2x2" vinyl flip coin holders with the above printed description of the coin. You also recieve an individual coin envelope with a label that reads "Widow's Mite Biblical Coin from the time of Jesus Christ" printed on it.   I recently gave away one of these coins to a visiting minister.   He grinned from ear to ear, he was so happy to have a coin from the time of Jesus Christ.
