What is a Cantenna and what it is Used for?
It is a strong wireless antenna
(802.11 protocol) used to get Internet from a distant point. This
cantenna is particularly interesting for 2 major

version. You don't need to buy another card, all you need is to plug your
cantenna in your PC or Laptop using the USB Cable. The USB WIFI Dongle is
inside the Cantenna, this mean no signal loss, you have 100% pure
connection no matter the length of your USB Cable.
We have many questions about how
this product works, Here is the explanation: BUILT-IN USB WIFI
802.11b/g Adaptor INSIDE the cantenna so the whole cantenna is detected as
a USB WiFi Device under Windows (Software Included). You DON'T need
PCI or PCMCIA WiFi Card, this is a COMPLETE SOLUTION.

powerful than the original pringle style cantenna sold anywhere else

In fact, my cantenna model is shorter than the
original Cantenna, but this doesn't mean it is less
effective

Performance
you could expect greatly depends of the environment. Wifi signal at
2.4ghz is greatly affected by physical objects. You will get the
most of the signal if you are in clear line of view. If you need to
go through trees/walls or other objects you will lose a lot of signal
strength and the distance you can reach can drop to few hundreds of
feets.

Important Information about USB Cable
Length:
USB protocol don't allow
cable longer than 16ft. But if you need a longer cable you can buy USB
Repeater and put them in a row (Every USB Repeater allow you 16ft
Extension and you can add up to 3 Repeater in a row for a total of
48ft extension cable). There repeaters of 100ft long but we never tested
it so we can't guarantee it works fine.

temperature, humidity, rain, snow can sometime give you a lower signal
strength (especially rain on the antenna, or snow covering the entire
antenna). But this low signal is solved when the temperature is normal and
cannot affect the antenna on a long term basis.
