Wouldn't be nice to hear mom or grandma again, or even your siblings or Uncle Joe. It is still possible to get those precious memories back off of the old wire recordings you have stored away.
I understand how precious these recordings are to you. My parents had made recordings of all of our voices when we were young. My mother was so happy to hear these recordings again. It was especially moving to hear my oldest sisters voice again, since she has passed away from cancer.
That was the motivation to put my 15 years of experience with audio and video equipment towards totally re-building the mechanical assembly of a wire recorder.
I am now offering the same resurrection of those old recordings to you!

I regard these wire recordings as historical artifacts and treat them accordingly. They are handled professionally, and with great care. I take pride in how the service is performed.
 
They are never left alone when playing back. It is difficult to determine if a wire will have problems during playback. The playing process will be stopped at the first sign of problems. If the wire does develop a tangle an attempt will be made to recover the wire. In some cases the wire can tangle bad enough that the bad section may have to be clipped out. Playing will continue after correction has been made. Most recording sessions execute smoothly and without problem. Please be aware that their is always risk of damage during playback.

* If you have more than one spool just purchase the quantity that you need.
* If the quantity of spools are greater than the number of sessions available, e-mail me. If I have enough session time open I will create a new auction, with high enough quantity to accommodate your needs. I limit the number of sessions available to keep turnaround time tight and the quality high.

I inadvertently stumbled across Doug's wire recording preservation service while searching eBay for wire recorders. Without a doubt I can honestly say that sending him three spools of my families recordings from the late 1940's will cause tears to flow at an upcoming family celebration of my father's 90th birthday. My father, who made the recordings at that time, has not heard them since about 1949 as his oldest son, me, accidentally ruined the wire recorder.
