Wire Wrap Jewelry Tutorial - Fancy Wire Pendant

Ever wonder how folks make those gorgeous Victorian Style Sculpted Wire Pendants? Well, now is your chance to learn just how it's done. Actually it's easier than it looks and there are so many variations you can do once you learn the basics. I include several examples in the tutorial for inspiration.

This tutorial will take you through each step necessary to create a beautiful Sculpted Wire pendant like you see in the photo above. Generally these type settings are done on cameos but as you can see work very well with any oval, round or even freeform cabochon once you become proficient.

The cabochon I used here is a 22mm by 30mm which is a very good size to start with. Once you become more proficient you will be able to use any size from 8mm by 10mm up to the quite large 30mm by 40mm.

NOTE: Where as I worked from right to left with my sculpting wires you may go the opposite direction if you wish. There is no hard and fast rule. I used four wires here but once you become more proficient you can use more. You can also twist some of the wires for a more Victorian look.

This tutorial is sent to you in PDF form via Email. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open it. If you don't have it you can get it FREE at www.adobe.com

You will receive your tutorial within 24 hours of cleared payment usually much sooner.  If you do not receive it within 24 hours please check your spam folder before contacting me.

Tools:

  • Bur cup if you won’t be tumbling your finished piece.
  • Flush cutters
  • Round nose pliers
  • Chain nose pliers
  • Flat nose pliers
  • Optional: Tumbler and Mixed Stainless Steel Shot

Supplies:

  • Dowel or knitting needle for your bail. I used a #6 but any round object that makes a nice bail will work
  • I find it easier just to cut your lengths as follows:
  • 2 pieces at 12” each
  • 2 pieces at 10” each
  • If using a larger stone like a 30mm x 40mm add two or three inches to the wire lengths. Of course you may use Sterling Silver or even copper if you prefer.
