In Greek mythology, the owl, and specifically the Little Owl, was often associated with the Greek goddess Athena, a bird goddess who often assumed the form of an owl. Athena was also the goddess of wisdom, the Arts, and skills, and as a result, owls also became symbols of teaching and of institutions of learning, being included in the crest of arms of many universities. In the Western world, owls continue to be traditionally associated with wisdom.

The Romans, in addition to having borrowed the Greek associations of the owl, also considered owls to be funerary birds, due to their nocturnal activity and often having their nests in inaccessible places. As a result, seeing an owl in the daytime was considered a bad omen. The vampiric strix of Roman mythology was in part based on the owl.

Construction and material:

This item is hand crafted from porous stone.

This sculpture is a copy of the original owl statuette found in the Acropolis Archaelogical Museum of Athens.

The weight of each statue is near : 150grm.

The height of each is near 7cm = 2.75inches.

There are two types of packaging for our products :

Prestobox Carton Box : We use the patented PrestoBox for all Fragile and Sensitive items like marble statuettes. This patented reinforced box has made it possible for us to ship with 0% failure. We are so sure of the prestobox packing system that we promise that if your items come broken or damaged in anyway, we will resend the same item within 5 days.
Sealed Bouble Box Envelope : Items that are not fragile, like Icons are put in a bouble wrap pouch,and then in a hard box envelope. Again we have had 0% failure.

Are our shipment Charges high ?

Yes, they are a bit high because :they are shipping + handling costs together.(This includes all the costs from buying, moving, stocking, packaging, damages, currency exchange etc)
The presto box when used costs us 2$ but it is necessary if you are to receive the items in one piece.
Some of our items tend to be somewhat weighty. The postal expense grows more expensive as weight is more. Two packs of 200grm cost less than one pack of 400grm.
