Germaine Brooks is a listed known artist born in 1959. To be a listed known artist, an artist must have had a work of art offered for sale at a major auction house or have many credentials in the art world like showings at galleries or belonged to art societies.
“Germaine Brooks was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1959. She received a BFA at the Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
She has had solo exhibitions at the Jay Grimm Gallery and Tricia Collins Grand Salon in New York, Lemon Sky in Los Angeles, and the Center for the Fine Arts in Miami.
Among other things she produced the catalogue 'Exquisite Girls', a limited edition booklet that plays on the tradition of le cadavre exquis.”
