This small book attempts to cover a lot of ground, but that ground has been plowed much more successfully in a plethora of other books on the subjects of women's health and sexuality, namely, The New Our Bodies Ourselves (LJ 2/1/93) and its many spin-offs. Topics discussed are contraception, fertility/infertility, cancer, menopause, psychological and emotional issues, and choosing a doctor. None is covered very thoroughly, and the accompanying line drawings are just short of primitive. Finally, the book is written as if no one but straight, nonhandicapped, middle-class women exist.
