Shoe size conversion chart printed from payless.com list European size 40.5 equal to U.S. women's size 8.5 and European size 41.5 equal to U.S. women's size 9.

Because of the rounded shape of the heel of these shoes it is hard to measure the soles.  But here is the approx. measurements: from toe to where sole begins to round up to back of shoe is approx. 10 inches.  From toe to back of shoe at the top is 10.5 inches.
