Wonderful Antique German Store
This wonderful Antique German Store was recently found at a local antique auction along with a fabulous Dollhouse (from the same estate), which I’ll also be selling so please check my other auctions! This vintage store is approximately 30 ½ inches across, 13 inches in depth, and 12 ¼ inches at the tallest point. The store is very solidly built of wood and glass. There are 16 built-in drawers with porcelain labels in German and tin- handle pulls. Some of the German labels that I can read are: Kaffee-coffee, Bohnen-beans, Mehl-flour, Mandeln-almonds, Tee-tea, Rosinen-raisins, Nudeln-noodles. The store has four glass windows with two glass shelves in front of each of the windows. There is also a movable wooden counter that is approximately 16 inches long, 2 ¾ inches wide, and 2 ¼ inches tall. There is a paper covering on the counter top and on the flooring. This store comes with many fabulous accessories: two handled copper mixing bowl, stoneware crock, metal cake pan, metal sifter, metal milk can, and even a metal silverware tray with spoons, knives, and forks. There are many cardboard boxes and cans for display. There are some plastic pieces that were later additions such as the paper roll stand, cash register, scale, and shopping baskets. This German store was very well made with much time spent on detail. The store is in very good condition with normal wear, age discoloration, and some paint loss. Please refer to the many photos that I’ve taken. The Tee drawer’s porcelain label has a chip and a crack in it and the scale’s base has been broken and reglued with some missing chips out of the plastic (it still works). Otherwise, this rare German example has survived all its years quite well and would make a wonderful display piece! I have set a very low reserve compared to what other shops of this rarity have brought at auction so don’t let this marvelous German store get away! Please e-mail me with any questions you might have and good luck bidding!
