Wonderful Vintage STERLING Rhinestone Bird Brooch Pin

Presented here is a wonderful sterling bird.

 

This piece measures 1-7/8" wide x 1-1/2" high, and features a highly detailed bird sitting on a branch with a small sprig of berries.

This little bird has a sparkling emerald green eye, and tiny chaton rhinestone collar. 

 

The wings, feet, and branch have been enhanced with a dark oxidation to bring out the detailing.  The berries were probably colored red originally, but time and age have now left just a hint of smooth patinated color, and due to age there is one tiny dark stone in the color, but all of this to be expected with the age of the piece (1940's), which was obviously loved and worn often.

Overall this sweet little brooch is in beautiful condition, and for me, none of the above notations detract from this piece, but instead add to it's wonderful character!
