This gorgeous book, filled with stunning photographic illustrations throughout, was from the personal library of John Glenn, before donating it to The Ohio State University Library.

Text in German. 112 pages, bound in blue cloth with gilt spiral galaxy design on cover and gilt lettering on spine. Hinges are strong. With decorative endpages. The textblock is tight and square, and the pages are clean and intact. Starting at foot, 1.5 inch tear at rear joint crease.

Signed and inscribed by author on half title page, "E. Penkala/ F.R.G.S./A.A.A.S// As souvenir for the/ Amsterdam unit to/ John Glenn/ 10th October 1965." Also includes a piece of signed ephemera: the personal business card of Eduard Penkala, signed on its reverse, "With the compliments/ of the author/ E. Penkala/ Amsterdam 10.X.1965" (kept in envelope). Ex-library.
