This listing is for a vintage WOOD FRAMED, HAND-PAINTED TILE featuring an older hunter seated under a tree. He appears to be snoozing while holding his rifle in this hands. There is a bird sitting on his feet and a rabbit is hiding behind the tree. Appears to be a bottle of alcohol sticking out his back pocket. Maybe this is why he's sleeping. If you look closely, you can see that the ceramic tile has a lot of crazing in it. This piece of artwork appears to be quite old, but I'm not exactly sure how old it might be. If you look at the sticker on the back from the framing company, THIEMANN'S PICTURE FRAMING, the phone number is listed as "LONGBEACH 1-1782", so that tells me that it was framed and backed long before we stopped using telephone prefixes like "LONGBEACH". Possibly dates back to the 1950's???

Wood frame measures 8" X 8". Wood has some minor dings in it from use. Backside is sealed with a blue plastic-like paper. Has a sticker from the framing company that states:"YEARS OF EXPERIENCE TAUGHT US HOW -- CHICAGO, ILL- THIELMANN'S PICTURE FRAMING -- 2609 PETERSON AVE. -- LONGBEACH 1-1782". Comes ready to hand with a twisted wire picture hanger on the back side. Also has a dab of wax at the bottom of the back of the frame so that it won't scratch your wall.

Take a look at the other 4 hand-painted and framed "HUNTER" picture ceramic tiles that are all a part of this art collection. These were all picked up from an Estate Sale. Not sure who the artist might have been. Great pieces of artwork!
