Created for Woodstock's 30th Anniversary, this beautiful Hudson River Chime is precision-tuned to the scale used in Pete Seeger's 1961 song, "My Dirty Stream (The Hudson River Song)". This song uses a beautiful 5-note pentatonic scale (C D F G A), which is ideal for a windchime due to its strong harmonies when the notes are played together. The wood parts of this chime are made of bamboo, a sustainable resource that grows much faster than conventional hardwoods.

This wind chime is part of the Woodstock Charitable Chimes™ Program, established to offer the wonderful sound of Woodstock Chimes with an equally wonderful bonus - a giveback feature. For every sale of a Woodstock Charitable Chime, a donation is given to a deserving cause.

Sales of this Hudson River Chime will benefit The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, supporting its mission to protect the Hudson River and create the next generation of environmental leaders. 2009 also marks the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson's trip up the river, the 40th anniversary of the Clearwater Sailing Vessel's maiden voyage, and Pete Seeger's 90th birthday.
