Worm castings is the perfect organic fertilizer. It will not burn even the most delicate plant or tender plants just coming up.

It is one of the best natural fertilizers money can buy. Worm castings helps improve soil quality and plant health; making them more resistant to disease, insects, and stress. Worm castings provide enzymes, plant hormones, trace minerals, and micro-nutrients that will promote lush, vigorous growth.

I make my castings by putting thousands of red earthworms in a bed and feeding them goat, chicken, and donkey manure mixed with yard waste and cotton trash from a cotton gin.  After the worms break most of it down, I harvest the castings by running the bedding material through a special screen and then put the worms and solids back in the bed. The castings may contain small particles of compost, worms, and worm eggs. This will also help your plants.

For the best results mix 3 to 4 parts of good quality potting soil to 1 part worm castings, or you can soak the castings in warm water for a while; then feed your plants with this water.
