First flown on September 21, 1964 at Edwards Air Force Base, the XB-70 was designed to cruise at mach 3 at an operating altitude of 70,000 feet. It was designed be at the time the ultimate high-altitude, high-speed manned strategic bomber. It featured six engines, front canards, and postionable hinged outer wing panels for better high speed flight performance. Two XB-70 aircraft were built with the second aircraft being lost on June 8, 1966 after a mid-air collision. The first XB-70 made its last flight on February 4, 1969 from Edwards to the Wright-Patterson Airforce Base in Dayton Ohio where it still remains on display.

Our XB-70 is a large and IMPRESSIVE detailed 1/100 scale model of this experimental bomber aircraft. It features complete engine detail, control and body panel line details, outer extended wing panels, authentic colors and markings, and comes with a special engraved display base with an engraved brass name plate attached.

This scale display model is big and impressive with a length of 23 1/2" and a wingspan of 10 3/4".

This is the largest version of this great scale display model availiable and is priced far less than the smaller version half it's size offered elsewhere on-line!
