Thank you for viewing our new (X-FACTOR 2008 3-PW + Free SW) fully custom fit iron set. This iron is fashioned after the X-20 iron set and is also similar to the X-18
Please review our listing as it is a very informative guide for club purchasing whether you are buying our set or another manufacturers. We are 1 of a few sellers who specialize in custom (i.e.clones) iron sets and we are proud of our designs as we feel they are superior to our competition as we are the manufacturers allowing us 100% quality control.
This listing is custom fit to your specs (your length, lie angles, flex, grip and grip size) and takes 3-5 business days to fully assemble to your specs. We send a fitting guide for your review once your set is purchased.
Our goal is to fit you in the same manner major golf stores and manufacturers have fit their customers for the past 25 years (Called a static fitting process) This is a simple 4 step process and can be completed by you (with a simple yard stick) if you follow our 4 step plan. We email you a detailed fitting guide upon completion of your payment. If you would like to review this guide before you purchase please email us and we will send it to you linksmangolf2006@yahoo.com

KNOCK-OFFS:
We are very sensitive to not violate any manufacture patents or trademarks in the creation of our products. This iron set is very similar to CALLAWAYS X-20s (Standard Series) but there is enough difference between this model and the model it is fashioned after to make this permissible to sell. We value and respect all other major manufacturers as we would not be in business without their creative R/D and innovation to spur the industry. Our clubs are cast using the same materials, are weighted in a similar manner, have the same lengths, but will not violate any patents. Our clubs will play as well if not better than the major manufactures especially when you factor in our customization procedure. We challenge you to test our iron sets for 30 days and if you are not satisfied we will provide a full refund for the purchase price even if you have used them.
CLUB ATTRIBUTES:
This iron set has a deeper back cavity and wide sole which expands your perimeter weighting and allows the clubs center of gravity to be positioned lower on the clubface. By lowering the center of gravity your shots will have a higher launch and allow for easier more consistent shot making.
TOE HEEL WEIGHTING: This iron head provides superior toe heel weighting by repositioning the weight from the notch in the center of the sole in the back cavity. The perimeter weighting is expanded to provide maximum forgiveness and enjoyment.
OFFSET: Each iron in this set has a wonderful degree of offset which is one of the main factors which has made Callaway irons the most popular in the industry for years.
AESTETHICS: This iron is easy to look at providing a medium-thick top-line and a nice head size resulting in increased confidence when addressing the ball.
FINISH: The club-head finish is a elegant clean looking mirror finish.
We offer 4 DIMENSIONS OF CLUB FITTING with your iron set and each step is included at no additional fee with your purchase price. Your iron set will be fit with the proper style/size of grip, club length, lie angle of the club, and flexibility/style of shaft. After your purchase we will send you a fitting guide/chart for you to complete in order to build your set to the proper specifications.
CLUB FEATURES:
STEEL VS. ZINC: Materials advantages
We feel it is important for you to realize that all our heads in this iron set are cast using 431 stainless steel. This is the same steel material used to cast all major manufacturer golf clubs. Some manufacturers will die-cast their sets in zinc which will not provide the same feel and results as a stainless steel iron head. (See photos of our casting house)
FITTING STEPS 1,2,3,4:
Review Below (After your purchase we will send you a easy to understand fitting chart for you to complete and return)
1.) Club Length
2.) Club Lie Angle
3.) Shaft Flex/Style
4.) Grip Size
1. & 2. CLUB LENGTH & LIE ANGLES:
We offer free adjustments for your new iron set with options ranging from +/- 2 degrees of std. lie angle. This service is free of charge for as long as you own this set.
Lie angles are very important and the wrong angle can result in inconsistent shot making and undesirable ball flight. We have provided a chart to best fit for lie angles in conjunction with length which is based on your height and the length of your arms (This is called a static fitting chart and was made famous by Ping *Karsten Golf company* in the 80s)
Typically (but not always) the taller you are you will either need a longer golf club and/or can adjust the lie angle slightly to fit your build. The shorter you are we recommend adjusting the lie angle (flatter) instead of altering the length which would result in a loss of distance. We use a Maltby Loft/Lie machine to alter your iron set (see photos) one iron at a time. There is a skill involved with the alteration of metals as it takes a trained hand and soft touch.
Mikes note: If you dont know much about lie angles OR are a little intimidated by the jargon dont worry. Over 95% of all iron sets are sold with a standard lie angle as the process is tedious to explain for most golf retailers/manufacturers. Our chart is a great guide to follow for lie angles and it is nice to know that you can always re-adjust lie angles OR alter them at a later date. We do offer this feature free of charge so take advantage of it if you feel it will benefit you.
Please review our length/lie chart and calculate the dimensions which fit you best.
Fyi: When bending an iron there may be a slight marring/scarring of the metal (most of the time you wont even notice this) which is expected.
3. SHAFTS:
You have the choice of Stainless Steel True Temper UTIM shafts OR lightweight 100% Players Choice graphite shafts. Read about the merits to see which is better suited to enhance your game.
STEEL SHAFTS: Steel shafts are heavier than graphite shafts which is beneficial to players who dont need extra distance with their irons. A heavier club is easier to control than a (graphite shaft) lighter club. Some players dont like lighter graphite shafts because they can be a little more erratic (some shots very far, some not)
Available Flexes: R(Regular), S(Stiff), +1 (Stiff for taller men)
Benefits:
- Great control of distances
- More durable material
- A little shorter length
GRAPHITE SHAFTS: Graphite is great for players who desire more distance in their shots as the lighter weight will increase your club speed and distance of your shots. A wonderful attribute of graphite is that it dampens the vibration of your shots which is beneficial to those who have some pain when playing golf (i.e. back pain, arthritis, sore joints, etc.)
Fyi: The graphite shafts used will not indicate R or S for graphite as they are flexed in the manner they are cut (i.e. We receive a raw graphite shafts 41 long and cut from the tip end for Stiff shafts and cut from the butt end of the shaft for Regular flex.
Flexes: R(Regular), S(Stiff), L(Lady), A(Senior)
Benefits:
- Increased distance with lighter weight
- Dampens vibration on shots
- Feels exceptional with good shots
- Easier to swing and gentler on the body
Mikes note: Some golfers think graphite is too whippy and not durable. It is true that about 10+ years ago graphite shafts were too flexible and difficult to control but graphite shaft manufacturers have drastically improved the quality of graphite. It can be as stiff and as durable as steel shafts while providing all the benefits graphite should provide.
SHAFT SELECTION/FLEX:
Which swing pattern best describes your swing?
1.) Smooth Easy tempo
(5 iron carry less than 145 yards)
FLEX: SENIOR/LADY
2.) Average tempo
(5 iron carry between 145-190)
FLEX: Regular
3.) Aggressive fast tempo
(5 iron carry 185+)
FLEX: STIFF
If you are taller we can make your set in the same flexes you see above. Not all taller players will play with a Stiff flex which is a common misconception.
If you are between categories please review the following:
Some players swing with a smooth tempo and some tend to be more abrupt with a fast tempo swings. If you swing with a smoother tempo you should choose the pattern that provides a little more flex (i.e. Easy). However, if you have a more aggressive approach to your swing we recommend leaning towards a more aggressive category.
4. GRIPS
SIZES/CHOICES:
Choose from 7 grip styles (see photo). Not all grips fit everyone though. We offer several models ranging from Cord grips, Oversize grips, to standard wrap style grips. All grips can be built up to size to fit your hand size. We send 1 Callaway Grip with your order but do not grip your entire order with Callaways due to high cost.
Mikes note: For years I have fit customers for grips and notice many golfers like the feel of a larger size grip. If a grip is too large for your hands (which tends to feel a little better in your hands) this is a detriment making it more difficult to turnover your arms through impact creating more slice in your shots (the opposite applies to grips which are too small for your hands) Arthitis: If you have arthritis we do recommend purchasing larger grips as this will help reduce pain/inflation in your hands during your round.
Style 1: Blue Velvet Grip This is similar to the velvet style grip but with a little extra color in the grip. Great looking and feeling. This is a very popular grip style and is a great all weather grip providing a tacky feel (Size: .58 Mens)
Style 2: Velvet Style (This grip is modeled after the Golf Pride Velvet grip and has been a popular model over the past 5 years) This style has a grip alignment aid for your thumb which is a helpful reminder for proper grip placement. The feel of the grip is very traditional and plays well in all weather conditions (my personal favorite) (Size: .58 Mens)
Style 3: Cord Grip: Cord grips are not for everyone and can be tough on your hands. They are definitely an acquired feel and for those who use them they seldom change to another style. Beware of calluses (helpful to wear a glove) (Size: .58 Mens)
Style 4: Wrap Style (This grip is modeled after the famous Tour Wrap grip which has been the leading selling grip style over the past decade) It has a tacky soft feel and is a great all weather grip. (Size: .58 Mens)
Style 5a: Velvet Thumb Guide Grip This is similar to the velvet style grip but with a little extra color in the grip. Great looking and feeling. This is a very popular grip style and is a great all weather grip providing a tacky feel (Size: .58 Mens)
Style 5b: Oversize Velvet Thumb Guide Grip: (This grip is the same as Style 2 but provided in an Oversize model) You must have some larger size hands for this model (see grip fitting chart) (Size: .58 Mens)
Style 6: Lady Grip (photo not shown) This grip has the same appearance as the Cord Grip (Style 5) but w/o the cord and is offered in a smaller grip size (.56) to fit smaller hands and with red color great all weather grip providing a tacky feel (Size: .56 smaller size)
*NEW*
Style 7 ($20 upcharge: please purchase this auction seperately)
This grip is a 2 piece Winn Style grip which is much softer than your standard rubber grip. This grip is avail. in Standard Size, Midsize, and Oversize. It feels great and this model is an all weather model which provides the best of both worlds (Karakal Brand)
All grips that are built up are done using tape which is applied underneath the grip to produce a size that better fits your hands.
Fyi: we do sell the grips separately if you would like some extra grips (please email for pricing)
