EXTRA FINE ELGIN B.W. RAYMOND 16 SIZE 21 JEWEL ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS MODEL 15 GRADE 478 MINT DIAL AND HANDS – CHOICE ALL THE WAY AROUND!

Serial Number: 28,829,034. Circa: 1925.

THANK YOU for considering our extra extra fine condition Elgin B.W. Raymond model, 16 size, open face, 21 jewels, adjusted 5 positions, Model 15, Grade 478, gold center wheel, GJSs, gold balance screws, 3/4 nickel plate, stem wind, lever set movement, mint, mint railroad dial and hands! Here’s a real hum-dinger of a BWR – the movement has very slight tarnish but otherwise is clean and accurate. I have owned and timed this fine model for many years and it is currently holding RR time of w/in 30 secs. per week! The balance motion is true with a good arc and beat, the innards of the movement are clean and there do not appear to be any mechanical issues, winding and lever-setting as designed. The dial is minty, a signed “Elgin RR” model by Star Watch Case Co., 12K yellow gold fill screw-back-and-bezel, with no brass and no dents, no dings, no dimples or depressions, no doodlings, no drawings, no carvings, no gold-bug tests, no initials, and only a few jeweler’s marks! The back and bezel work fine, the original crown shows slight wear but works fine but does not extract (also as designed). The bow is original and shows little if any wear and the crystal is missing and needs to be replaced – an easy find! The dial is a super mint single sunk glass enamel model that smokes – a deco Boxcar design with the intriguing sub-second motif. Correct hands, matching bold blued spade RR models that are likewise minty and turn and set fine. It’s all here, folks – the case, the dial, the movement, all correct, all collectible.
