ONE OF A KIND YAMAHA "K METAL" FRENCH HORN BELL FLARE. This is truly a "one of a kind" bell flare. It was made for Martin Hackleman, an ex-member of the Canadian Brass from the 80's. According to Mr. Hackleman, Yamaha was trying to duplicate the brass from vintage instruments with the technology of that day. Though in the end Yamaha abandoned the project, it produced a few instruments including a Trombone for the group that according to Mr. Hackleman, "I remember it sounding very warm without sounding dull or tubby," and this bell flare of Mr. Hacklemans that, " I always loved the sound of the bell." This is a very, very unique item that is unlacquered with history and lots of character that will add to anyone's arsenal of bell flares. Also available is a letter composed by Mr. Hackleman providing a brief history a Yamaha's "K Metal" project and personal opinions.
