Now that you've seen what we can do.....
Have that one piece you love that's been sitting around, and you can't figure out what to do with it? Or maybe you love a wood finish piece or an 'as-is' item that's in our store now, but you want it painted?
No problem! Let us do it for you! We have commonly been commissioned to paint whole truckloads of furniture owned by our dealer customers. Now we extend that option to our general public customers here on ebay. Just the same way you have your old furniture refinished, you would entrust it to us and commission us to restore it in the painted and distressed chic cottage fashion!
You may bring us your own piece, or you may pick out an item in our store inventory and tell us how you want it! We post our services here by hourly rate, all-inclusive of materials, so there is absolutely no hidden cost or "tacked-on" materials expenses. A variety of colors and finish effects are available. To find a piece to have custom painted in our store, simply browse our categories, or view the complete catelogue lists in the header bar of our store, where it says "catalogue 4 custom order", until you find something that suites you, and follow the easy instructions below. We look forward to painting a piece for you!

ABOUT OUR COTTAGE CRAFTSMANSHIP: Items are finished in our own professional distressed paint, hand-rubbed, and sealed with a professional varnish coat for protection and durability. **ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTE!** This is not do-it-yourselfer paint, but rather a professional quality oil-based finish. Our competition slaps on the cheapest housepaint they can find and simply scuffs or actually scrapes off the edges of the wood, leaving it damaged and open to the elements, not to mention unrealistic. Our pieces are gently rubbed through to the old finish underneath on all surfaces, not just the corners, but flat surfaces as well, and completely sealed with multiple coats of old-fashioned varnish against the damaging effects of the atmosphere. The result is a smoother, softer surface that will remain durable for years to come, and a look and presence far more authentic than what our competition will offer you, not to mention far cheaper. In many cases you can see woodgrain through the painted finish, as well as the tiny imperfections that show a piece's true age and give it character. It has our own secret satin-touch smooth feel, free of drips and brush-marks, in a soft heirloom color with the true look of a genuine antique paint job, worn around the edges in all the right places. We call it "worn to perfection" and are well-known for excellent quality craftsmanship. Although we do our own finishes, we use authentic antiques and vintage items, ranging in age from 60 to 125 years old, and the finished paint jobs so authentic in look and feel they have been known to fool unsuspecting dealers. We have sold chic orders to happy customers many times over the past few years, and our pieces have even been used in restaurants and bed&breakfasts around the country, and on occassion the magazine spreads for cottage decor you see at the bookstore and in the grocery check-outs. Whether for home use or commercial, you have our guarantee of a professional and high-quality end product. You may order just one for an accent piece, or multiple items enough to furnish your whole room or business! Please check our other offers in this category as many peices are available, both already finished as well as custom orders to your own specification.
COLORS AND EFFECTS: Our standard and most popular color is an antiqued off-white or heirloom white, although both bright white and yellowy butter-cream are also available. You may order to your own liking, specifying more or less wear, "chippy" or not so chippy, combinations of colors, "frosting" (where two shades of a color are blended into one another- a dark for highlights fading into a light shade on larger open areas, ala 1920s), as well as our own "Krackle-Koated" finish, a highly authentic crackled treatment using only natural materials (no weird chemicals). Other colors include colonial slate-gray, medium light gray, black, pale granny green, Victorian moss green, seafoam, pale or canary yellow, barn red, baby blue, pink, coral, and French blue (pale violet). Our colors are based on and inspired by actual paints and colors popularly used during historic periods. For instance, granny green, cream, and pale pink are commonly seen in the 1920s, whereas "Victorian moss" is just that- Victorian, from the 1870s-1890s. Black strongly resembles antiqued black laquer and was used in a variety of periods. We have owned and sold actual furniture from these periods in real original paint in these same colors, and we are well-known for highly authentic colors and effects. You won't find a better or more realistic painted restoration anywhere else! For samples of colors and effects, you may view or order a sample color pallet by clicking this link:

Ready to get started? HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
Instructions for placing a custom order:
Choose a piece from our inventory: by browsing through our normal store categories, or by clicking the link in the header bar of our main store page, or any listing description, where it says "catalogue 4 custom order". Our master catelogue has a full listing of all the different types of items we commonly offer up for custom distressed-paint finishes. And on every item listing, it will say which ways the piece is available, either as-is as-shown, painted/restored, or refinished/restored, right under the top description where it says "price list and options". If the item you want is available for custom-painting in either of these two places, e-mail us to send your request for the piece. Include your location, as well as your desired colors and/or effects, and we will reply to confirm availability and give you the go-ahead! Then you may submit your bid for the item. Almost any unpainted piece in our store is up for grabs! And many of our standard classic items are already listed with painted restoration in mind! If you're unsure about anything, feel free to ask us first, and we'll be happy to talk you through the arrangements. Once we get your bids/purchases for the item and the work, we will send you a combined ebay-invoice. It's easy!
OR, let us paint something you already own: contact us via e-mail or telephone first, to notify us of your intentions. Please include a description of the item you want restored, your color/effects preferences, general size/dimensions, and your location. Complete pick-up, shipping, and delivery is available for most locations. Once you receive our reply with confirmation and approval, you may enter your purchase for the work to be done. We will then send your ebay invoice, and will contact you directly to begin making arrangements.
THE NITTY-GRITTY: This is a CUSTOM-order. YOU ARE ORDERING OUR SERVICES. The purchase of a service implies by nature your agreement to allow us to change or alter your property. Purchasing services also, by nature, implies that you agree to allow us the time appropriate for the completion of your work. While most of our custom jobs are completed fast, we reserve the right to use the full time period estimated or to alter the ETA on completion as necessary and appropriate for the project, as it may be difficult to tell how long some jobs will take until they are underway. We hope that our buyers recognize that although this may seem like a long time to wait, it is EXTREMELY FAST, compared to the 6-12-month time window typically required by other restoration specialists. IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO COOPERATE WITH US AND ALLOW US THE TIME WE NEED TO COMPLETE YOUR ORDER, THEN KINDLY TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. We are offering you lightning-speed specialty work that you will not find elsewhere. We offer it for pennies on the dollar compared to the few other firms willing to do this work, and as such we expect your full and complete cooperation. If time-frame is an issue for you, it is always best to e-mail your intentions prior to purchase to ensure your request can be filled in a timely manner, especially if you require other specialty effects, tinted finishes, veneer repairs, or restorations that require liason with other specialists, such as reupholstery. We cannot guarantee the time or speed of another person's work- ie, if you ask us to have others perform services on your piece, that time is not included in our work period. We offer liason services with other restorers and craftsman free of charge as part of any custom order, but this is seperate and independent of our own work period for your job. During the restoration process, we commonly and happily send our customers info, updates, and photos of work in progress, so you know your work is being done, and you know when it is being done. WE GET THINGS DONE IN LESS THAN 1/2 THE TIME OTHER REFINISHERS TAKE. This includes "lead time"- that is the time it takes us to complete other orders placed before yours, and to prepare the item and our work space for your work order. Our services are first-come-first-served, and we reserve the right to withhold services until those customers that came before you have been taken care of first. You may shave off lead time only by ordering "expedited" services, which allows us to hire extra help to get your order under way faster. We cannot guarantee all projects will be available as an expedited order, so it is important that you check with us first- do not assume. If you are interested in speeding up your order and making it an "expedited order", or in finding out what lead time to expect for your order and when it may begin, always ASK US AHEAD OF TIME. We will do our best to work with you. We encourage you to call around locally to see what other refinishers may quote you for work and lead time, and we are sure you will find the best of them asking you for upwards of a year. We will not ask you for that long, but we do ask you are patient and lend us your complete and whole-hearted, helpful cooperation. For more info, please read our aboutMe page and our complete terms and conditions of sale, or simply e-mail us to ask. Thanks for your interest!!
All custom orders should be approved by the seller over e-mail prior to purchase.
