    Excellent Flash

This is an excellent flash for the price. I'm an amateur photographer and this was my first external flash; I didn't want to break the bank with a Canon flash and tried the Yongno. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the performance and results using this flash. The E-TTL worked as expected on my old Canon Rebel XS DSLR with a variety of lenses. Pivoting of the flash head works well for bouncing off walls and ceilings. The flash recycles quick enough for me with good quality batteries. I would recommend this flash for the amateur photographer who wants to control their flash without breaking the bank with a canon flash. It is excellent performance for the price!

  • Top critical review

    one time use only

The pro: price, decent light. Used it only one evening (~100 shots) in an event. The quality of the photos with this flash is mostly good. It's pretty easy to take a good shot with it. The cons: The day after the flash died. It turnes on and the red light indicating flash ready. But when I take the shot the flash won't fire. making the photo dark. tried to change the battaries - didn't help. I guess you get what you pay for, next time i'll buy the original product

  • Professional feeling, minimal price

The flash works great with the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS camera (I have a type C camera from the CHDK). Even at manual mode too. And you can control the flash in the camera menu. Robust design, but very heavy (compared to the camera). From a low viewpoint you can't really see what is in the screen, but not a big problem.

  • Low budget great opportunity

I bought the lens for a Nikon D5100, was hesitant for a while, as I heard older versions of the lens did not have the autofocus working with this camera, though later posts confirmed, it is working. - I can confirm the lens does work with Nikon D5100 on latest firmware - Preparing the lens for first use is not a big thing, removing some plastic foils, was easy - attaching the lens was easy (you also can check camera manual or ask help in a shop) - getting use to the no zoom lens will take time, this comes from the nature of prime lens, though it is also true, if you use a prime lens for a longer period, in overall it will improve your overall photography performance - speed of autofocus is a bit slower than the 18-55 kit lens, but (at least to me) it is not annoying - lens is a bit noisier then the 18-55 kit lens, also to me it is not annoying - sharpness of images is just great - bokeh - I love it - using the lens with low or lower light conditions gives to me amazing perspectives, where the kit lens would chose noisy ISO settings, with this lens I still get much cleaner pictures - the price / performance ratio to me is unbeatable. since I have this lens , (well not so long ago) I have not considered at all going back to the kit lens - I had "lens not attached" error - I detached/attached the lens, works normal since then In overall, I am satisfied with the product, to me the important item was to make a try with a prime lens, with a low financial risk, I got the proof that it was a good investment.

  • Great quality and easy to use

Yongnuo has a great quality product that can be used either on the camera's hot shoe or as a slave flash. My Nikon D3100 does not have the setting for this, but the 565EX TTL has the infrared wireless technology that read the camera and I am able to use it anywhere in the room as a stand alone flash.

  • Great flash head for Nikon D3xx0/D5xxx

Don't be fooled by the price tag - if you need a second flashgun or want something more beefy than the built-in flash, this is your item! Screw it tight to the hotshoe and make sure its on TTL, go shoot. You will not be disappointed. Feels solid, works great. Batteries are good for about 200 flashes, depending on demand (power setting). Overall: Quality: 9/10 - great aftermarket option Value: 10/10 - cheap and amazing Focus speed: 8/10 - can be a bit slower than Nikon equivalents, but you save $200-$300 for that 1/4 second! Screen: 9/10 - Readability is great, backlight good for low-light environments Ease of Use: 10/10 - Turn it on and shoot

  • Excellent Flash for a Fraction of the Price

Functions flawlessly, has all features a semi-pro requires except HSS, at half the price of brand name units.

  • Great product.

Fast recharging, auto TTL support with my Nikon. Flexible head tilt like the main brands. It feels good to count on it.

  • Read the manual

This is awesome speedlite with fantastic capability--but you MUST read the manual if you've never used one before. Settings are NOT intuitive for newbies. I'm still learning the complexity of it, and it will do everything I can think of--IF I can figure it out. Its a solid unit and don't be scared off by its lower price compared to the $300+ speedlites that do the same thing. Maybe you'll want one of those someday but for the amateur photographer I'd doubt it. I love the ability to pivot the head, use a flash defuser, and get great pictures--but like I said--READ THE MANUAL. You'll become frustrated almost immediately with the unfamiliar nature of it unless you've used a speedlite like it before, which I hadn't. Would easily buy again.

  • Does not work enymore

After just 4 month of usage, it does not work anymore.. You can still turn it on and on the first glance, everything is ok, but after connecting to the camera or pressing "pilot" button, it does not fire. I even tried it on the another camera body but results was the same as before.. still nothing. Don't need to say that the batteries are fully charged.
