The RM50 combines 16-bit AWM2 tone-generation technology with a 22-bit D/A converter for accurate audio reproduction of its high-caliber sampled waveforms. Add to that its programmable digital filters, wave-layering capability, and a broad range of editable voice parameters, giving you total control over even the most subtle nuances of the sounds it produces. You can refine its voices or even create completely new voices, as needed.

The RM50 is highly expandable via its three wave-card slots, giving you access to the large selection of waveforms and voices on the various wave cards released for the RY30, SY77, and SY55. A fourth slot accepts a data card for the storage of additional user-created voices, variations, and kits.

The RM50 also features a click function, a built-in audio-to-MIDI converter, and 6 audio trigger inputs that let you control the RM50 with analog controllers, such as drum pads, pick-ups, or audio recorders. These features make the RM50 as useful to the acoustic drummer as it is to the MIDI programmer.
