The Yamaha Tyros3 is a music arranger workstation that features many different voice technologies using the most appropriate one to bring out the best in each voice. One of the best ways to check your musical progress is by recording your performance and listening back to it. With Yamaha Tyros3 this is a simple task thanks to the Easy Record feature! Simply press Record, then perform your song. Press Stop when you've finished. To hear your performance, press Start. Whether it's a piano solo, or a full ensemble using a Style, everything you do will be recorded. It couldn't be easier.

Whether you're new to keyboards or a long-time vet, you'll find Song Creator a great benefit. There are so many ways to use Song Creator, no matter how you play. Want to concentrate on playing the melody of a song? Create a chord sequence using Chord Step Record. Or why not use Step Record to edit a song? You could correct wrong notes, timing, or even change the voices used. Fancy yourself as a Composer? Use Song Creator to build up a full 16-track sequence to produce a full orchestral score.

The onboard Hard Disk Recorder allows you to record your performance as digital audio data—for pristine, absolutely noise-free audio quality. With 2 stereo tracks, you can record multi-track and mix using not only the Tyros3's styles and voices, but also your voice, guitar, or other acoustic and electric instruments via the Line or Microphone inputs. If you want some background music you can transfer your favorite CD tracks onto the Hard Disk Drive and create a playlist.

As stated above, Tyros3's content has been mixed by studio engineers, using similar facilities to those found in a professional recording studio. In music production the key to creating a great sound is how the song is mixed. Mixing doesn't only mean changing volume balances, but also items such as panning and effects settings. Tyros3's Mixing Console allows you to mix your music like a studio engineer, offering you these options and more. It is equipped with many Digital Signal Processors (DSP), each featuring dozens of different types of effects to enhance Styles, Voices, and the overall sound. Of course, Tyros3 allows full adjustment of DSP parameters providing detailed tonal control.

A USB port, conveniently located on the keyboard's front panel, facilitates easy computer connectivity for transferring song data from the Tyros3's 3.2 MB internal flash storage. The LAN port connects to Yamaha's online music portals, Internet Direct Connection, Yamaha MusicSoft, and Digital Music Notebook. Users can download different song styles, instrument voices, and upgrades to the Tyros3, along with sheet music, song books and software.

A vital component for all keyboard instruments is of course, the keyboard itself. Tyros3 has Yamaha's high-quality FSX keyboard action which is smooth, fast, and responsive. Together with the positive feel of the action, the keyboard is also fully touch-sensitive, with easily controllable initial touch, aftertouch and note off, so you can dynamically and expressively control the level of the voices with your playing strength, just as on acoustic instruments. Tyros3's voice parameters have all been individually adjusted in fine detail to match the FSX keyboards touch response, ensuring expression through touch is always smooth and progressive.
