Yasubei Avenging His Uncle's Death

Comments - Fantastic Kuniyoshi triptych of the young warrior Yasubei fighting Murakami Shoyemon and his men to avenge the death of his uncle. Swords and spears clash as his victims pile up around him, a single sword flying through the air overhead. His sister and mother watch from the right with alarmed expressions. The fight takes place in a natural arena ringed with tall pine trees. Hundreds of spectators watch from the sidelines, with a few tiny figures even climbing the trees for a better look. An incredible design with wonderful detail and an engaging composition. A great choice to collect or display.

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams, backed with paper. Vertical fold near right edge of center panel, now flattened. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Very nice overall.
