Up for auction is this stunning work we found in the city of Ayacucho in Peru, one of the magnificent masterpieces that we'll be auctioning within the next days.
Starting at an incredible price, this is a unique opportunity to acquire such a valuable asset, part of Peru's colonial heritage.
A truly one of a kind item, it is in a good condition, consistent with its age, dated around the 1950s.
It is framed with a breathtaking retablo style piece.
The oil painting is an exquisite depiction of the Young Virgin Mary weaving.
Young Mary is seated, though awkwardly, on a 17th century-style friar's Chair. She is dressed with a little cape around her shoulders pinned with a brooch. Her halo and clothing have just a touch of gold leaf.
This image of the young Virgin at her tasks is rare in European art outside Spain, where its earliest appereance seems to be in a painting by Juan de Roelas. In the Viceroyalty of Peru, the image was often paired with a pendant painting showing Christ as a boy with the crown of thorns, upon which he has pricked his finger, in his lap.
The history of the Peruvian painting has its origins at the colonial era. The Spanish painters who arrived at the Viceroyalty of Peru taught their techniques to the local artists, and they began to shape in its linen cloths its own representations, proposing a new iconographic interpretation of the Peruvian reality. The catholic divinities were adapted to indigenous sensitivity and gave like result an own and singular way that had its maxim expression in the "School of Cusco Painting" ( La Escuela Cusqueña), during centuries XVII and XVIII.

- PayPal (alpacawarehouse@softhome.net) and Money Orders/Cashier Checks/Personal Checks are accepted. For international bidders, the ONLY payment method accepted is PayPal.
- If you pay with Paypal, please use eBay Checkout to make easier for you the payment process. If you buy more than 1 item, please e-mail us asking for a combined shipping/handling fee, then a consolidated invoice for all the items you have won will be sent.
- If you pay with a Money Order/Cashier Check/Personal Check, please include the eBay item number, your eBay user ID and your shipping address in the envelope. If such payment does not include this information, your order may be delayed. Our mailing address is included within the winning notification e-mail, which is sent after the auction ends.
- Personal checks will be held for 10 business days to clear.
- If a payment for an item is not received after 7 days, we will send a last payment reminder. If we still don't receive the payment after 3 days from that last payment reminder, we will file a Non-Paying-Buyer Alert on eBay, in order to recover the fees charged for every item we sell.
- Florida residents please add 7% sales tax. If you are a FL resident and forget to add the tax in the payment, your order will not be processed.

| SHIPPING/HANDLING INFORMATION |
- Shipping/handling within the continental US is $22.00. Shipping to Canada is $26.99. Rest of the world shipping is $34.00. This product requires special handling and permits from the peruvian government. An authentication signature from the Peruvian National Institute of Culture (INC) will be stamped on the back. Therefore, estimated delivery time is around 3 weeks.
- We combine shipping when possible for winning bidders on multiple items and auctions. You can save up to 50% on shipping when you buy multiple items.
- Necklaces are not eligible for combined shipping/tracking number.
- Shipping/handling charges do not necessarily reflect actual shipping costs.
- We usually ship through USPS Priority Mail, which delivers packages in 2-3 days from the shipping date in most cases.
- Items are shipped within 2 business days after payment is received.
- You will receive a shipping notification when the item is on its way.
- Some heavy items may be shipped using FedEx Ground (tracking number available).
- At an additional cost we can ship your item through USPS Express Mail, FedEx 2-day or FedEx Overnight service. Feel free to e-mail us and ask for these special shipping services.
- Insurance is optional but is highly recommended. Once we ship the item, it is already out of our hands and there is nothing we can do if the items get lost. For items under $50, add $1.30; for items between $50-$100 add $2.20. For orders over $100 please send me an e-mail to give you the cost of insurance.
- We ship worldwide (international customers please email for shipping charges).
- For international orders, we use USPS Global Priority Mail system, which usually delivers items in 4-6 days from the shipping date. We do not offer tracking number or insurance for international orders. We are not responsible for custom taxes that may apply to international orders.
- No local pick-ups. No exceptions.

| RETURN POLICY |
- 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed. If you are not happy with the item, you can return it within 15 days for a full refund of your money.
- Shipping/handling and insurance charges are not refundable, unless you have received a wrong or damaged item.
- Item must be returned with original tags and in perfect condition within 15 days from the end of the auction.
- To return an item, just send it to our mailing address with a note including the auction number and the reason of the return. Without this information, the return won't be processed. Please do not take away the internal code/bar code of the item.
- Please allow 5-7 days from the date we receive your return in order to process your refund/change.
