Excellent double F7 diesel header, stock Marklin AMTRAK passenger train!

Z SCALE MARKLIN INTENDED "COMPLETE" AMTRAK PASSENGER SET...A-A HEADER/TWO F7 DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES...ENTIRE SIX MARKLIN AMTRAK PASSENGER CARS WITH ORIGINAL CLEAR PLASTIC CASES AND STOCK WHITE LINERS/MARKLIN #8760, #8761, #8762, #8763, #8764, AND #8765...EXCELLENT RUNNING CONDITION

A delight for the Z Scale engineer! This "complete" AMTRAK passenger set is offered to you runners out there. The six-car consist is powered by two Marklin AMTRAK F7 diesel engines. For those who have never looked at the brochure resting beneath the liner, Marklin, at that time, clearly recommended the use of two F7 units to haul the matching set of passenger cars.

Because no one ever paid much attention to directions, nearly twenty years later, I find many a very tired Marklin AMTRAK F7 diesel unit. Usually a good cleaning and lube job will work wonders to bring these babies back to life! The shells of this A-A header are just perfect and the engines run extremely well, using very little transformer throttle for prototype speeds. One unit wears it's pilot and the other has couplers on both ends. The extra pilot and coupler/spring are in the respective liner pockets in their cases, which happen to be in excellent condition!

Along with this powerful AMTRAK A-A header comes this fantastic AMTRAK passenger consist! It's in beautiful condition and ready to run!

These wagons were produced by Marklin from 1985-89, and were extremely popular. Of course the red, white and blue bespeak of our National Railroad Line! It is ever more difficult to round up a really nice set of this collection, but this one, with it's individual plastic cases, is just super for the runner! It's composed of a baggage car, a coach, a diner car, a sleeper, a vista dome car, and a rear lounge observation car. Six units in all.

Why not start running an AMTRAK train. They would have been seen everywhere in the USA, and would be a comfortable fit in any layout! As you can see in the photos below, this AMTRAK consist is packaged in the original clear plastic cases with white liners, and while not collector pristine, they are in very good condition. All the labels on the ends are in perfect condition.
