Place your bids on this rare antique 800 silver, open face, stem wind and set, 15 jewel pocket watch crafted by Zenith of Switzerland, c. 1904. The fancy silver dial features black Arabic chapter markers, auxiliary seconds and a heavy blued-steel whip minute hand and spade hour hand. The dial, hands and crystal are in very nice estate condition. The 800 German silver Zenith case is in very nice condition, showing minor signs of wear. The back is decorated with engine turning and a central fancy blank cartouche surrounded by sunburst motifs. Engravings on the dust cover indicate Zenith watches won an award at the Paris Grand Prix in 1900 and a medal at Geneva in 1896. The 15 jewel movement is in working order. The case diameter measures approximately 51 mm. The pocket watch is marked as follows: Dial: "Zenith" Movement: "Zentih 15 Jewels 1046459 Pat. Oct. 18 1904 30751" Inside of case back: "R 0.800 Zenith 2391617 5829" Outside of dust cover: "Grand Prix Paris 1900 Medaille D'or Geneve 1896 Ancre Levees Visibles Double Plateau 15 Rubis Balancier Compense Spiral Breguet Zenith" Inside of dust cover: "0.800 5829" Zenith was founded in Switzerland by Georges Favre-Jacot in 1865. The name Zentih was registered in 1897 and by 1920, the firm had manufactured 2,000,000 watches.
