Up for sale is a ZENITH YELLOW SIDE SHELL CHAIR LOT. These 3 mid-century chairs were an estate find with one of the chairs having a city sticker on the bottom. It is unknown exactly when these chairs were made. Underneath the chair there is a silver inked stamped that is nearly illegible but is supposed to read Zenith Prime with a 2 in the center. Superimposed over that stamp is a black stamp that looks to have a 5 and Zenith C.C. in it. On two of the chairs it is barely there but it is more readable on the third. There is also a raised “B” in the mold and an inked set of numbers, perhaps a model number on the bottom. Each chair has a different number. One of the chairs has a black inked C with something in it and another has what looks to be an H or I depending on how you look at it. We have taken close ups of each stamp so you can decide for yourself.

The chairs are in good but used condition. There is obvious seat wear in the middle area as the fibrous pattern is worn down. There is also medium edge wear, predominantly where the chair curves from the back and along the sides of the seat. There are no cracks in the shells. These chairs have been in storage and we have lightly cleaned them but they will require further cleaning. The shells were stacked on top of each other and the metal mount from one chair touched the seat below, creating the colored circles below. We have used just soap and water and they lightened but did not come out completely. It is unknown these areas will clean up completely.

The shell sits on a metal frame with a wide mount in front and a narrow mount in back. The chairs include the original hardware and rubber shock mounts. Four of the lock washers for one chair are missing which would be easy to replace. The chrome legs do have a tiny surface rust spots throughout. We have made no attempt to remove it. The chair measures approximately 33”T at the back (18”T at the seat) x 20”W x 18”D.

Please view all of the pictures to see the chairs condition as we are selling these as-is. Although we may have not shown every single scratch, it gives you an idea of the general condition of the chair. Be sure not to miss out on these fantastic vintage shell chairs!
