ZENOBIA or THE FALL OF PALMYRA

was published in 1887 by John B. Alden.  "In letters of L. Manlius Piso, from Palmyra, to his friend, Marcus Curtius, at Rome," a historical story about a place on the Italian coast where the gods would choose to stay with the woman Zenobia, the main chairacter, 191 p.  In double columns.  The binding is plum-colored with  impressed ornate decoration, front and spine, gilt lettering at the spine.   About 9" tall.

In good to fair condition, the book has this wear: Pages yellowed.  Front board cracked but holding.  Light dust of foxing at front binding, transparent spotting to back.  A small chip in the cloth at back bottom edges.  Spine faded, wear at spine ends.
