Here's a Franklin #9 typewriter for you. It was found in a barn, so it's being sold just as you see it, as a restoration or parts machine. It's a bit dirty, and has a smell to it, but it is what it is.
Each key does work, and the carriage does advance (so the spring appears to be OK), though there are some parts missing. Please see the pictures to judge condition and completeness.
Sold as seen- please email with any questions- Good Luck! Serial number collectors: please email winning bidder for serial number if it's not in the description.
You should receive an invoice from eBay right after winning the auction. If you don't, please let me know!

On Nov-03-09 at 14:45:16 PST, seller added the following information:I received a question and wanted to be sure it was well-seen by any prospective bidders, so I'm repeating it here:
Q: Hello - from pictures I can't understand the state of the carriage: does it engage with the machine or not? Why did you take it off from the machine? ThanksNov-03-09
A: Hello, The carriage fits onto a rack on the machine. This rack moves as it should, and the carriage was sitting on top of it at the time, and it also moved, of course. However, the carriage is not attached to the rack, and there is something missing from the end of the carriage. I took the carriage off for separate pictures because I wanted bidders to see that there were some parts missing. The carriage was not properly attached to the rack when I bought the machine, and it is not attached now. I hope this clears up any questions. If not, please tell me!!!
