Desirable Hardy Brothers England Fly reel with agate guide:

There are several similar reels on eBay but none are this smaller size.

The reel is marked THE PERFECT 2 7/8" and  ~ MADE BY ~ HARDY BROS. LTD ~ ENGLAND ~ on one side. At the top of the agate guide, on the nickle silver seat it is further marked HARDY'S PAT.

The reel is a combination of various materials: Center pin on the one side is brass, and the foot where it attaches to a rod is also brass. The knurled adjusting knob looks to be nickle. I think the handle is bakelite. The handles collared seat and center pin and are brass.

The reel shows scuffs and normal wear for it's age, the sides have areas that show metal through the gunmetal gray paint. Look very closely and you'll see the agate guide has three stress cracks in it.
