You are looking at a Steinway Upright Grand Piano. The serial number is 66762. Based on info on the "net", Steinway's serial numbers in the year 1900 were at 95000. So I would "guess" this piano was made in the mid 1890's, maybe earlier. Some have told me it was made in 1889. All the keys play and it does sound out of tune, but none of the keys stick or feel funny( to a non piano player).
The exterior needs to be refurbished to look really good. It is worn and some of the veneer is pulling up on one or two edges. There is also a quarter sized chip from the veneer. There is also another chip that is about 2 square inches. The keys have some stains. The bench is included but the top of it is in poor shape.
I put a dollar for shipping because I tried entering zero and it said "free shipping" which is more misleading. Anyway, cash on pickup is the preferred method of payment, but checks and money orders must clear before allowing the item from being removed. I will allow to be picked up by a shipping company but payment must be cleared first, and arrangements made by the buyer. I will do what is reasonable to accomodate.
Item must be picked up within 5 days of auction end! Delivery up to 50 miles may be considered with a minimal fee.I wouldn't trust my truck any farther than that. A deposit must be made via paypal for delivery and balance paid in cash on delivery. I will assist getting off the truck but additional manpower must be supplied at location.
Item is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks for understanding.
Any questions feel free to ask! Inspection of the piano is welcomed and encouraged. Email at cdwelds@comcast.net for more pics.
