Unlike old fashioned bleeding heart, Fringed Bleeding Heart has fern-like foliage and blooms intermittently throughout the summer. The larger old fashioned type is very slow growing, but this amazing variety will spread easily with runners just under the soil surface and will fill in an area like a ground cover. It is easy to control however by simply pulling it up, and is easy to transplant to other areas of the yard or garden.
The plant tolerates full sun if well-watered. This hardy plant spreads more easily in a sandy loam enriched with peat, but grows easily in clay as well.
You may receive narrow roots which are called rhizomes 2-4" long, about the thickness of a pencil or slightly less. Or you may receive plants 3-6" in height. See link at bottom for planting instructions.
