This is a CDV photo of two young ladies who appear to be sisters. They are both wearing dark hoop skirt dresses with white lace collars. Photo was taken by Howard in Allentown, PA, ca. 1865. There is an orange 2 cent US Internal Revenue tax stamp on the back ink cancelled with the photographer’s initials. The numbers 6 – 2.00 appear in the upper left corner of the image. I think this is a notation of the price, which as written on the original glass negative (meaning 6 photos for $2.00). Also, 2.00 can be seen written lightly in pencil on the back. The ladies in the photo are not identified. Good condition with good contrast.
