Performance Distributors is now offering the D.U.I. (Davis Unified Ignition) for 1949-1953 Flathead Ford engines. The D.U.I. is a one piece ignition system with the coil in the cap and the module inside the distributor. Only one 12 volt hot wire is needed for hookup. The D.U.I., which is fully electronic, eliminates the hassles of changing points and makes for a much cleaner installation than other aftermarket systems, which make a maze of messy wiring. The 50,000 Volt DUI Coil, which is located inside the cap, allows you to open up the plug gaps to .055". The larger plug gap allows the fuel mixture to burn more completely for increased performance and better gas mileage.

The Dyna-Module, which is located inside the distributor, has more electronic dwell time built into it. The extra dwell time allows the coil to saturate longer, sending a massive, longer duration spark to your plugs. A heavy duty cap and rotor with brass terminals insures maximum conductivity. Each DUI Distributor is calibrated on a distributor machine with a super smooth advance curve for the engine it is going into. The advance curve is based on information about the cam, compression ratio, carburetor size, vehicle weight and octane of fuel. The dialed-in advance curve provides instant throttle response, more horsepower and prevents engine damaging detonation.
