Listings may also be set to approval for buying/offering to prevent scammers from ending listings prematurely. You must email prior to trying to buy a vehicle. It should be noted that the lines denoting a salvage vehicle are added by eBay and that what a buyer chooses to do with a vehicle once they own it is entirely their business. I bought this 1949 Hudson Super Six coupe the end of May. This car was stored in a garage and forgotten from 1963 until about 2003, when the last owner came into possession of it and moved it to a pole barn. I now have it here in my garage. Body is fair; some rot to fender tops and left front by grille; some rot at front of rocker; doors hood and deck lid are solid; some rot above the rear wheels. Unibody rear frame rails have rotted in the usual places. However that's the worst of this car's problems. Mechanically the 262-CI motor turns over and the oil in it was normal, I did change it out and got as far as finding the coil not working seems to be the only thing keeping it from running. Everything on carb moves as intended; motor has optional aluminum head and plugs are loose; no sign of freeze issues, radiator is dry. Clutch does not seem to be stuck; trans shifts through gears okay; car rolls and steers easily. I flat towed this car to bring it home, and back up here, over 125 miles, no issues. Car was complete to an old battery under the hood. Interior is fair. Front seat has a cover and uhpolstery is poor under it. Dash is nice, plastic on wheel and knobs in good shape. Has radio and turn signals. Could be made presentable. Will probably need a left windshield to pass inspection; has several cracked side windows too. Not in a hurry to sell, tinkering with some repairs and looking into frame repairs. But similar cars have sold on eBay in past auctions in the $2500 range. The guy who offered $500 must be stoned right out of his mind, there's not a snowball's chance in you know where that I'd let it go that cheap. I have a tentative deal to have this painted and some bodywork done, but every time I go to do it, someone expresses interest in the car. Hate to see it sit through the winter out there. May be a good car for a custom project, or an early NASCAR clone. Depending on your point of view, the rear frame rail issues may make it suitable only for parts - there is no reproduction or patch panel available to repair this area. I did have to relocate this car to Mohawk NY with the other cars. Do I really need to put the "We do not part out cars" disclaimer in this listing too? Terms of sale: $500 or 10% deposit, whichever is greater, due in 7 days. Full payment due 14 total days from close of auction. 30 days free storage included to come get it. After 30 days, unless you have suffered a major disaster (keep us informed), a storage fee may be applied. Can be paid check, money order, or cash in person. You're welcome to come look at this car in person, by appointment, please e-mail for information to set one up. How to pay: eBay in their infinite (lack of) wisdom has chosen to make Paypal, in person payment, and other credit processing the only acceptable payments on most items. Although regular vehicle listings are exempt, they forgot to exempt this category. So be aware that to use Paypal to pay for this item, it will need to be taken apart into pieces small enough they can be shipped via FedEx or UPS. I can't imagine what the expense of that would be, given some parts would have to literally be destroyed to be small enough for them to accept and ship, and it would require easily hundreds of packages. Any questions, just let me know.

eBay forces me to include this redundant and confusing statement in this listing - their words, not mine: “This vehicle is being sold for parts only and is not operational or street legal. Therefore, upon purchase, it will need to be either towed or trailered. eBay encourages its members to learn about their state laws governing vehicle sales prior to the sale or purchase of a vehicle.”
