1961 Cessna 310F Complete
Vehicle Description

1961 Cessna 310 F

Description: Offered for auction is a 1961 Cessna 310. N6759X, S/N 310-0059. Aircraft is complete and in good overall condition. It is fully assembled and could potentially be flow from it's current location with an A&P/IA sign off, ferry permit and log books; we have all sales and ferry permit documentation. It was last flown approximately two (2) years ago. The aircraft is sold without airframe, engine or prop logs. TTAF will be according to tach/hobbs time which is currently 1,388. Recreation of logs may be possible via 337 records. Aircraft is currently owned by an aircraft engine repair station in Southern California and is stored at a local airport. While the seller does not know the history of this aircraft, some artifacts were recovered from the aircraft glove box including an invoice pad with a price tag date of 2/27/92. Written on the back is the time 713.6. Another entry dated 4/1/1995 reads 1.4 HRS flight time, 864.4 HRS (assume on Hobbs). Hobbs currently reads 1386.6.

History: This aircraft was flown into Oceanside Airport (KOKB) approximately 2 years ago. It was auctioned to satisfy liens for repairs and tie down. No other history is available except for what may exist in 337 reports. This aircraft has been re-listed due to a bidder that could not afford the airplane & backed out of the transaction.

Paint: Paint is white base with Cessna yellow stripes rated 5/10. Some oxidation & would likely improve to a 6+/10 with wax & detailing. A small area above the baggage door was cleaned and waxed and showed significant improvement.

Exterior Misc: Fuel was added to both main bladder tanks without leakage.

Interior: Interior is brown/gray cloth & ultra-leather combination with brown carpet. Some slight wear at entry door seating but otherwise in good overall condition. Airtex style carpet in the forward seating areas. Headliner has some minor seam separation at rear above baggage area. Overall rated 6/10 and would improve with detailing.

Avionics: During the engine run period the radios & transponder were checked. Unable to test transponder but the reply light stayed constant initially (during warm up) and was functioning normally (intermittent blinking) after 5 mins. The VAL 720 and Narco MK16 work powered up and transmitted.

1. VAL 760 Digital Com
2. Narco MK16 NAV/COM
3. Narco 190 DME
4. Narco AT50 Transponder
5. Narco HSI
6. King KR85 ADF
7. VOR
8. VOR/ILS
9. Marker Beacon

Instrumentation:

1. Dual EGT
2. Oxy Pressure
3. OAT x 2
4. Oil Temp/Pressure
5. Tach
6. Man Pressure
7. Fuel Flow
8. CHT's

Engines: Continental IO-470-D. The engine cores alone are worth the reserve price of this auctrion. Both engines were run on 10/26/2009 and both easily reached full static power. Both engines ran well and within normal oil temp and oil and manifold pressure(s) at all power settings. Both engines exhibited normal sound(s) at exhaust & neither shows signs of smoke (oil consumption), etc. Both engines appear physically to have been well maintained; both cases and cylinders appear clean. This implies lower time or that this 310 may have been stored in a hangar.

LEFT Engine:
1. Appears to have fresh Hylomar at the oil pump cover (see pics), newer gaskets & cad plate as applicable
2. Has Slick mags
3. Starter appears low time
4. Alternator appears to be newer style
5. Exhaust has typical surface oxidation (rated 7/10)

RIGHT Engine:
1. Has Bendix mags
2. Starter appears low time
3. Alternator appears to be newer style
4. Exhaust has typical surface oxidation (rated 6/10)

Props: Props are both Hartzell. Both props were overhauled by T&W propeller and may be subject to AD 2003-13-17; determination by serial number. The prop cores are worth a significant portion of the reserve price itself.

Pre-purchase: It is the buyer's responsibility to determine if a pre-delivery inspection is necessary. The aircraft is currently hangared but hangar access is terminated as of 11/1/2009. Determination of airworthiness, and subsequently if the aircraft is "flyable" shall be solely determined by the buyer, buyer's agent or appropriately designated A&P/IA hired by the buyer. Seller will work with buyer as is reasonably necessary to complete transaction. Buyer should be prepared to obtain a ferry permit from the local San Diego FSDO; at buyer's discretion.

Warranty: This aircraft is 48 years old and the manufacturers warranty has expired. It is sold as-is, caveat emptor and with absolutely no warranty or guarantee expressed, stated or implied in any manifestation.

Questions and answers about this item

Q: Greetings; A few questions, What will it cost for local AP/IA to check off for flight, how much is the hanger rent and how long can it be rented, is there someone local who can obtain a ferry permit and fly to PIA and at... Continue reading
A: We cannot speculate as to cost for an inspection. What we do know is that the buyer might as well have an annual inspection performed, thus mitigating a partial pre-delivery inspection & instead starting with a fairly... Continue reading

Q: It appears that the exhaust exits over the wing. Has the spar been inspected for corrosion? Did the engine shop that you bought it from say what work they did? Thanks,
A: Correct. This is the old style augmenter exhaust. Do not know of any past inspection of the spar for corrosion but the aircraft was flying and airworthy at the time it landed at KOKB, so one must assume that if there is an... Continue reading

Q: Any preliminary estimates or general idea of what it might cost to make ferriable or complete annual? Like prop AD's that might have to be done before ferry permit might be issued.
A: No prelim guesses or general idea. One can deduce that the airplane is generally complete and could be airworthy again. It flew on it's own power, and during normal operations, to KOKB approximately two years ago. The... Continue reading

Q: I`m very interested in your item... I want to buy it. Can you shipp to Leeds UK? I will wait for your e-mail ASAP Thank you!!
A: Export or shipment out of the US would be the decision, and expense, of the buyer. We have contacts that perform this service but any work with them would be independent of this auction.
Nov 08, 2009
Q: Would someone on the field be interested in annual and recreation of logbooks, AD compliance etc.
A: You'd need an A&P/IA to sign off on the pre-delivery inspection which would, in totality, effectively be an annual. We also have three A&P/IA's that are available to do a pre-delivery inspection; buyer's... Continue reading
