1964 Mercury Comet
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Up for auction is my 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible. This car is a head turner and a fun,fun car to cruise in.The Comet has a 170 6 cylinder engine with a 1 barrel carb.I bought the car this summer and rebuilt the carb, tuned it up and thats all. The top motor or something is broken so the top goes up and down manually.As easy as it works I really don't know why you'd want a power top but hey who am I.I put the top down and didn't put it up til the day I took the pictures.Why own a convertible and run with the top up, it don't make sense. The car was repainted about 20 years ago and the paint is about a 7. The front seat has a major tear on the drivers side, other than that the car needs some TLC and it will be a great show car, or you can leave it as I did and just have a super driver that your not afraid to get wet or alittle dirty. The door codes are Body 76D Color J Trim 36A Date 14E DSO 16 Axle 5 Trans 3 The steering column has a problem where the shifter is, I understand this was a old problem with these cars. Someone J-B welded the shifter rod back on, but it does not effect the performance of the car at all. Look over the pictures and if you have any questions please feel free to ask or call me monday thru friday from 8-5 eastern standard time at 717-776-7070, thanks you. mike | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
