A Genuine  “A CODE”  MUSTANG FASTBACK!

FYI, People always asked what’s the difference, so here it is.

The 5th digit considered “code” in the VIN number establishes what motor came with the car from the factory.

T= 6 cylinder engine

C=2 barrel standard carburetor

A= 4 barrel performance carburetor

My fastback came from the factory with a 4 barrel carburetor for performance. When I purchased the car it came with a 2 barrel carburetor but the seller gave me the original 4 barrel manifold to go with the car. He said he was trying to save gas in the 70’s but that it did not make a difference.

I have taken my car through a recent restoration by removing everything from the car and having it painted with the 1966 Whimblton White. I always loved this bone white color as did Shelby with his GT350’s

This EYE POPPING beauty looks sweet! No scratches, chips or scuffs to be found. All the door gaps align very nice. There is no rust in the floor pans, frame rails, torque boxes and other parts of this car to be found. This car has been meticulously maintained and always garaged.

Born and Raised in California with a DSO 71 (Los Angeles) this car came well equipped with these factory options: 289 v8 4-v motor, Manual 4-speed transmission, power steering and heavy duty suspension package. I added Amber fog lights, and dual exhaust to give it that GT look being that you had to have an “A code” car to be a factory GT, it was a no-brainer. I added new rally Style Steel wheels and tires. These wheels give an aggressive look without compromising originality.

Lots of money and countless hours were spent to get it this nice. Due to financial obligations I have to sell it. The registration is current with a Clear California Title.

This car was in original condition and garaged when purchased. It was very solid and unmolested from the start. My car still retains the original AM radio, unlike most mustangs that have had their  metal dash butchered to install an aftermarket radio. The undercarriage and floor pans are straight and rust free! (see pics) The engine compartment is perfectly straight as well with no signs of previous accidents or damage (see pics).

This is a 2nd digit “R” in the VIN number car meaning built in California and this is where it stayed! So this car never saw those harsh salty roads you find back east. This is a KEEPER CAR!

The black interior is all brand new with new black upholstery on new seat buns and compliments the paint very nicely. Doors where stripped of paint to the bare metal then re- sprayed correctly to show off the grain in the metal (see pics) This simulates the upholstery grain. A lot of cars have all this grain filled in with old paint because the owner doesn’t want to take the time to strip and do it right. The dash pad is in great condition. The instrument bezel, sill plates, kick panels, door rubbers, trunk rubber, and seals are all new. The headliner is original and in nice shape. The carpet is new.

The original fold down rear seat chrome is in very nice condition.

This Mustang drives straight as an arrow. You can cruise the Freeways at 80 MPH with total confidence and get a very comfortable solid ride. Engine and transmission was rebuilt about 20k miles ago and runs strong! The suspension is solid and this car stops very nicely. Recent tune-up and oil change done. Brakes, Wheel Bearing all done. Power steering parks this beauty easily.

Below I have listed all the fine details that were added or replaced on this car.

INTERIOR:

All these items Brand New: Black seat upholstery and buns, kick panels, door panels, arm rests, carpet, wind lace, window crank handles, door handles,  instrument gauge bezel & lens.

EXTERIOR:

All this is New or NOS: Front and rear Bumpers, Tail light bezels, gas cap, trunk lock and sleeve, door handles, side mirror, door rubber, trunk rubber, door locks, radio antenna, and amber fog lights. The GT emblems and MUSTANG letters are original.

Much more is invested than I am willing to let this car go for. I want a serious buyer who can appreciate such a fine car and take good care of it.

Tag reads:
