1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Convertible
Only 2,158 made over 40 yrs ago.
Thats about the same as 70 Boss 302s built.
The official Pace Car for the Indy 500 in 1966 was
the 1966 Comet Cyclone GT Convertible !!
They where also all Red with white interiors too
like this car.
Big block ragtop with a stick and a factory
fiberglass hood, a true muscle car !
390 GT FE big block & 3 spd manuel transmission
9" rearend and 3:25 gears
(pretty rare, but could swap a toploader
in there very easily)
Has Power windows, power top, AM radio
Power top works too.
Original Fiberglass hood looks great !
mileage probaby 126k
This car does run and drive to make shipping easier
The car starts, runs and drives but the motor
is tired and smokes some after it warms up.
Brakes are working fine too.
Some stuff missing, most of the important stuff all there.
Ive been thinking of getting a Marti Report which I still may
do this week.
I believe most of the paint to be original too.
Although someone has started doing some bits of
bodywork about 10 yrs ago it looks like.
The 15" Maruader Rims DO NOT COME WITH THE CAR
some roller 14" steelies will with ok tires.
The more you go over this car,
the cooler it gets !
Check out All the pics and then look for more info
AFTER the pics etc. There are over 100, make sure you
use the schroll bar on the side to see them all.

So there you have it, the pics show very well what to expect.
Dont let auctions with little
to no good pics try to fool you. With others, you really dont
know what to expect until you take the car apart.
This car has been in CA most of its life and has little
If any rust on the body. Floors and trunk are very clean too.
The pics show what is where. Corners of the doors got the
worst of it. And the chrome has some salt air pitting.
About the title: car was aquired from an estate sale
the owner of the last 25+ yrs passed away and the kids
where too lazy to get us a title.
Its easy to get a Bonded Title in ANY state. So the winner
should have no problem getting a title once they get
the car. Avg process time is about 4-5 weeks.
Id do it but dont have the time. If it doesnt sell Ill probably
start the process. Check your local Mvd with any questions.
This car, you can see clearly what to expect with no surprises
